Relationships are complicated. Like, let’s be honest, there is nothing easy about any kind of relationship. It’s complicated, it affects everyone around you and you’re left questioning everything that you do.
Relationships are confusing, but an essential part of life. But what happens when the person that you want to be in a relationship with is in one with one of your best friends. Only you didn’t know and your lips fell on his lips before you knew.
Emily’s life is all sorts of complicated, but that’s part of the excitement. You don’t know what’s going to happen.

FRIENDSHIP IS THE BEST SHIP
Mindy and Emily are growing closer and I am glad that they have each other. Living anywhere can be lonely, but having a friend that you can talk to definitely makes things easier.
Mindy is that person for Emily. She makes Emily feel at home in Paris. She gives her the feeling of normalcy. Sometimes what a girl needs are her friends to work everything out.
For Emily, Mindy is the person that she can talk to about Gabriel and about Camille. As we found out last episode, the two of them are together and that is a big issue because you know – Emily kissed Gabriel.
And what do you do when your friend is dating the guy that you like? Chicks before dicks, you know?
Camille shows up as they are talking about Gabriel. Mindy knows that Emily feels bad about the situation and she makes it a little (okay, a lot) awkward. But like I can’t even be mad – cause I would be that bitch too.
Emily feels bad, but like she shouldn’t in my opinion. She didn’t know that Gabriel had a girlfriend. Camille is really nice, and like so sweet that you can’t help but feel bad about the fact that you know that she’s going to be hurt – eventually. Cause isn’t that the way this shit goes.
Mindy takes a pic of Camille and Emily together for Emily’s Instagram account. Camille realizes how many Instagram followers Emily has and Mindy remarks that Emily is good at making friends.
EMILY THE INFLUENCERS
Sometimes, it doesn’t matter the size of your account (okay, all of the time) doesn’t matter – it’s the engagement and reach. And Emily knows how to do that through great content.
And it’s that content that got the attention of Duree Cosmetics – who is having an influencer luncheon.
Emily got invited to the Duree cosmetics influencer lunch which is a big deal for Emily, because she loves the brand. The thing is though, Duree has been a client of the marketing firm before and Sylvie hates them. You don’t speak of them in the office.
No one in the office wants to speak of them or tell Emily why. And to be honest I am a little annoyed with it, because like – I want to know the reasons why. I want to know why everyone hates each other.
Like give me all the drama, cause the drama is what makes it interesting.
The lunch comes and Emily has to leave. People are surprised that she’s going, because no one likes Duree in the office. But Emily sees it as a chance to bring them back to company.
So she goes and meets a douche bag gatekeeper – who to be honest – I have met too many like them in my career – and he treats her like she’s nothing because she’s only got 20,000 followers. Even a dog gets a better influencer bag than her and I couldn’t help but laugh and also be mad for her.

Emily is there for a purpose. She wants to recruit Duree back to the agency. She thinks that this could be a good win.
And Olivia likes Emily’s posts. She has her own idea of what Emily could be. She thinks she’d be the perfect brand ambassador. She was impressed that Bridget Macron reposted Emily’s post on vaginal wetness.
Olivia doesn’t have an agency. thinks they overpriced. Emily says she can do more than influencers and where as I agree that brands need influencers I will also die on the hill that they need agencies.
THIRD WHEEL NIGHT ON TOWN
You know how it is – you go home and you just wanna chill, but you run into your crush and his girlfriend and they invite you out for the night. Emily tries to reject the offer, but Camille isn’t taking no for answer.
And they have a great time. It’s one of those corny montage scenes that you can’t help but love and you’re mad about because it tears you apart. Like do I love the ship I love or do I let go?
The three of them go to Van Gogh exhibit of starry night. It is beautiful and has taken over the whole room. It’s like being alive in the painting. Emily takes a seat in between the 2 of them and Gabriel talks about his love for sleeping under stars. Could he get any more perfect?
I have to admit, I was happy when Camille got up and did something else because I needed Emily and Gabriel to talk. The chemistry between these two is palpable and I am all about it.
They agree to act like nothing ever happened thought you can tell on both of their faces that something did. It means a lot to both of them. But it’s so obvious that neither one of them want to hurt the other.
I want these two together. I admit it. I wish that I didn’t and that I could save Camille from pain. But I admit it, Gabriel and Emily – I ship them hard.
BIG DREAMS AND THE END OF DREAMS
There is a big account at work – Hastens beds. I am all about a good mattress, especially cause mine is a piece of shit.
Sylvie has big ideas, but her ideas are old school. And not everyone wants to see models sleeping in a bed. Like, I want to be able to relate to the person I am seeing. And Emily gets that. She suggests harnessing the power of social media and asking people to come sleep under the stars with them. Put beds around the city and ask people to come sleep with them.
The client loves it. I love it too. Instagram instillations are always fun.
The client loves it and I love that marketing is such a passion for Emily. She conveys it so well in every meeting and I think that people have a problem with it, because it is new for them.
But the next meeting – Duree. Olivia wants Emily to be a brand ambassador and Emily says no. She tells Olivia that she’s a marketing executive at Savouir. Olivia says that they are expensive and Olivia says that since Sylvie is working there, it hasn’t changed and she doesn’t want to be there.
Olivia says Emily would be more successful as an influencer. Emily says she isn’t one.
Emily returns to work – Sylvie upset over Hastens liking Emilys idea. Sylvie is pissed over Emily going to Duree. Here’s the great thing about social media – it gives us a chance to be a part of peoples lives, but it also sucks because you can’t hide your life. There are cameras everywhere. So it’s no big shocker when Sylvie has seen her account and is pissed that she was with Duree. Tells Emily she’s the enemy of luxury and to delete Emily in Paris.
I can’t with that. Social media is hard work. Social Media is a roller coaster of emotion and chaos and sometimes it’s too much. But it’s meant to bring the world together but with the amount of misinformation tears it apart.
But erasing Emily in Paris? That’s Emily’s whole identity there.
Emily goes to Mindy and Mindy says to get Dads lawyers involved. God, I love Mindy and her way of thinking. Emily tells her that her Dad doesn’t have lawyers and I couldn’t stop laughing when Mindy just shrugs her shoulders and tells her that hse has to delete the account then.
But what they do next solidifies their bond. A night of sending off Emily In Paris with a bang. It’s one of those moments that you hope that you have in life. A great night with friends and you forget about the issues and you just live in the moment.
And moments are what is important. Mindy takes Emily to prettiest street in Paris. The road that leads to the end of Emily in Paris, the Instagram account.

I FELT IT TOO
The last thing that you want to happen at the end of a drunken night is to run into your crush. You don’t want him to be understanding and comforting. You don’t want them to see you that vulnerable.
And Gabriel catches Emily outside of the building, pressing at numbers and staring aimlessly. She’s confused and he’s confused. The tension between these two – I swear it’s so good, but I hate that I love it because Camille deserves better.
As they walk up the stairs in silence when she gets to the point where she’s gonna leave him and he tells her that it just wasn’t her – that he feels it too, I wanted to cry. Get your man Emily.
Sorry Camille.
SYLVIE WAS WRONG
I love when Sylvie is wrong. I don’t have much in life, but Sylvie being wrong makes my day.
Sylvie calls Emily and tells her to being phone, she wants to see the last picture she posted. Emily tells her she deactivated – which you think Sylvie would be happy for – but Sylvie isn’t happy about this.
When Sylvie tells her to reactivate her account, part of me smiles. I feel like I’ve won and that makes me happy – even though it’s not anything to do with me.
The client wants Emily to be the first one to post about the installations and I couldn’t help but laugh. Seeing Sylvie suffer a bit with having to give into Emily was satisfying.
Sylvie tells Emily she can keep account. She wins. She’s an influencer now. Emily says they are on the same side. I think it’s the thing that Sylvie doesn’t get. They are all on the same side. They want to win.
Cut to instillation, where Emily has invited Camille. Camille was happy to hear from her. She noticed things were tense and thought Emily just didn’t like Gabriel. Camille knows he’s a little standoffish.
Emily and Camille’s friendship is great, but it’s being built on a bed of lies. They both like the same man. They both want to be with the same man. And avoiding it will not help.
When the two take a picture together and post it with the #getinbedwithus – Gabriel sees and likes, with a smile on his face. Shit is about to get really complicated.
As if it wasn’t already.
