I think that we all have a course that we set out for ourselves in life. Dreams that we want to make come true, things that we want to happen, ways that we want to think outside the box.
It’s a normal thing to feel overwhelmed in life and it’s a normal thing to feel on top of the world. It really just depends on the day, the hour, the minute. Everything is always changing and you roll with it.
But sometimes everything changes based on the things around you and the people around you.
For Emily, everything is always changing, but she’s always on her feet.

FRIENDSHIP
As you may recall, Emily has come up with the campaign for Camilles family. It’s a bottle to sip and a bottle to spray. If there is anything that you should automatically assume is that Sylvie will be against this.
But Emily has proof that “Champere” is doing great. Emily sent a bottle of the label – which is specially made to spray – to her favorite bar in Chicago and everyone loved it. Sylvie says it is wasteful, but Luc says that it’s actually the French that started this tradition.
I don’t think that we have to give Luc a lot more credit. The man is hilarious, but he is so oblivious to it that you can’t help but love him. He’s insanely horny though. Like legit – HORNY.
Sylvie asks when they will meet the family and Emily tells them that they are invited to Camille’s art opening that night.
Sylvie is in peak form right now, because of Antoine. She’ll tell you that she doesn’t care, but she does. You can’t convince me otherwise. But what I love about Sylvie is that she’s not going to let anyone in unless she wants to. It’s something that I can relate to.
FRIEND OF THE LOUVRE
Emily receives a phone call from the American Friends of the Louvre. They want to meet her.
I know what it’s like to be in a foreign place and have no one like me, so I would jump at the chance to have someone who gets me and my customs.
Emily meets up with the lady and she’s as Texan as they come. Emily is excited that the menu is in english. She’s thrilled that they have a cheeseburger. But it doesn’t take long before she knows why she’s there.
Judith, the lady from the Louvre, knows Emily works with Pierre and is looking to have Pierre can donate a dress. Emily says that she will ask. I admire the fact that she’s always willing to try where most people would be running away from asking.
But Emily leaves and immediately calls Mathieu. She asks if she can come and talk to him, but he’s busy. He says that he can meet her for a drink though. She says that she has plans with friends and is going to an art gallery opening. He says to text the address and he’ll meet her there.
Here’s the thing that I envy for. She has her pic of hot french men. They are all falling at her feet and she knows it, but at the same point, is oblivious to it. I still don’t like the fact though that it’s anyone but Gabriel.

And that night, Sylvie shows up at the art gallery with Luc. They are introduced to Camille and are making small talk. But it’s not to long into it when Mathieu shows up. Sylvie and Gabriel both look irritated that he’s there and that he’s kissed Emily on her cheeks.
Camille takes everyone to show art and Luc stops at a painting that doesn’t look overly sexual, but he sees the sexual in it. I’d like to say I am shocked, but I won’t lie to you. Man is a perve. But after he’s done explaining, Sylvie takes Mathieu to talk.
Camille sees that Mathieu has been staring at Emily. Though part of me thinks that she knows that her man wants in Emilys pants and she’s gotta stop that. The other part of me thinks that Camille is just really perceptive.
Mathieu normally dates celebrities and Gabriel acts shocked that Camille knows this. I wonder if he knows anything about women, because we all know about a lot about useless shit.
But furthering my belief that Camille is trying to get Emily away from Gabriel is that she is insistent that Mathieu would be good with Emily. Gabriel asks if it’s because he dates celebrities, and Camille goes in for the kick. She says it’s because he’s got his life on track.
Look, I want Emily and Gabriel together, but I also feel like they shouldn’t be fighting like this. They need to work their shit out, but not in a public arena. Emily even knows that and tries to get them to stop.
But Emily get an out – Mathieu comes up and says he must go and asks if they should go to dinner. Camille says that there is a great Bistro around the corner.
When Emily and Mathieu walk out Gabriel and Camille look disgusted with each other. Work out your issues or break the fuck up.
CREPES AND NIPPLE RINGS
Emily and Mathieu get crepes, which honestly, makes me love these two even more. It’s a simple night of walking through Paris, eating crepes, and getting to know each other. But hey – simple nights make up some of the most epic nights – in my opinion.
They get to know each other. They get to be calm in each others presence and learn about how opposite they are. It opens Emily to feeling comfortable enough to ask about the dress, to which he tells her to come to the office the next day and they’ll see if they can find something that can work.
One thing that you never do is google someone. And Emily does that the next morning at work. You see how many celebrities Mathieu has dated. That shit is intimidating.
You also have to make sure your jealous boss doesn’t catch you looking at photos of the person that will make your boss jealous. And Sylvie doesn’t like that Emily is getting more attention than she is. She tries to call Emily out and Emily tells her that it’s just business.
I am waiting for Emily to go off on her and tell her that she doesn’t mix business and pleasure. I mean sure, we all do to a point, but not everyone is out to sleep with everyone.
Leave it to Julian though to walk in at the wrong time, but at the right time. There is a present that has arrived for Sylvie. It’s from Antoine. She says to send it back. When Sylvie walks away she tells Emily to open it. She won’t.

But again – here is Luc to save the day. He opens it and it is a beautiful set of earrings. Luc says they are nipple rings. Emily isn’t sure if they are serious or not.
PERFORMANCE ART
It’s the night of the event and the turnout to support the Louvre is great. Judith is so excited for the dress and can’t say enough amazing things about Emily. Sylvie is annoyed by her American antics and finds her way away as quickly as possible.
Designers Grey Sapce show up looking like they were auditioning for Ghostbusters. They say it is their spring collection and I am wondering how it is that anyone would want to wear it on the streets. Emily pitches her marketing firm to them, but they say they keep marketing in house. They also look guilty as sin.
Judith freaks out cause she gets a text and the model couldn’t make it. She’s not the picture of discreet. Mathieu walks up and asks what is wrong, but Emily says everything is fine – they just lost their model . Judith asks if he knows model – he suggests Emily.
To be honest, I am not shocked that he suggest Emily. Emily is picture perfect. Emily comes out in the dress and everyone is taken with her. She looks amazing. People are bidding and as the price goes higher she becomes more and more comfortable.
Grey Space keeps driving price up. Everyone is excited and Mathieu tells Pierre he should be flattered, they are fans. But when they win, they go shoot grey paintballs at Emily. Pierre is crying. Emily is mortified.
Emily is the talk of the town.
COVER GIRL
The next morning, people are texting and Emily wants to act like nothing is happening. Gabriel comes to check on her, handing her a newspaper and she sees herself on the front page. He asks if she wants to translate the article, but she doesn’t need that as she lived it.
She doesn’t want to go to work. He says not to go – to stay there. She wishes she could and you can tell he wished that she would. He wants to comfort her. He leans in and kisses her on her cheeks. You can tell she’s happy he checked on her and wishes that she could go to him.
At work Emily is looking a social media. Grey Space posted about the event and what they did. Everyone is covering it. Grey Space and Pierre’s Instagram accounts have gained a lot of followers.

Emily assures Sylvie, when she says that it is bad, that nothing she’s read about Pierre has been bad. Pierre is part of the conversation. But Sylvie has a point – what is that conversation? She makes it known to Emily if they loose the client even Chicago will wanna get rid of her.
Em goes to Grey Space, with a force that we’ve never seen come out of her. She is a woman on a mission and confront the designers. The designers hope she saw the event as performance art, because they did.
She didn’t. Pierre didn’t. But in typical Emily fashion she tells them there is something they can do to change Pierres mind.
CHANGE THE CONVERSATION
Pierre is devastated and in bed. He’s cracking open the tops of creme brulee. She walks in and apologizes and he tells her not to apologize. After all, they both got shit on the night before.
Pierre says that it happened because they were mocking him for not being relevant. He doesn’t get that you would have to be relevant for someone to want to do that to you. They are interjecting themselves into the brand to get attention.
Emily says that they need to shift the perspective. Emily shows him a hoodie – one that Grey Space wants to collaborate on, bringing Pierre’s brand into streetwear.
Pierre looks like someone shit on his creme brûlée. He’s offended, doesn’t understand and says no.
Emily tries to explain to him that Grey Space doesn’t follow the rules and thats why the world likes them. Pierre says any women that wear that hoodie is ugly.
I beg to fucking differ with Pierre on that statement.
Emily says she shouldn’t be there telling him about fashion but Grey Space does admire him. He tells her to go – he’s been a copy of himself for to long.
My heart breaks for Pierre. He’s that old man that you love, want to take care of, and protect.
When she gets downstairs, Mathieu asks how it went. She says she made it worse and Mathieu tells her that Pierre thinks he’s Churchill.
Mathieu tells her that at their darkest hour the French make love. He kisses Emily and I admit, I kinda cringed. Emily says she’s not sure she’s that french and he says – yet. Ummm presumptuous Mathieu, I am not sure I am liking you, YET.
Emily in Paris is streaming now on Netflix.
