Dean and Sam Winchester, and the honorary Winchesters Cas and Jack, deserved better than the ending they received at the end of Supernatural. (This is coming from someone who was kind of ok with the ending but ended up analyzing it and then wishing or more.) In fact, we’ve got you covered with 5 endings we wish we had instead! 1. Dean and Sam grow old together
I firmly believe that Dean and Sam should’ve grown old together. Dean would’ve been the best uncle in the world to the nephew who had his name. Sam would be that perfect counterbalance to Dean and would probably convince his brother to settle with someone who loves him as much as Sam does or more. And without God trying to jerk them around all the time and with Rowena in charge of hell, they could’ve lived a peaceful life together.
2. Dean and Castiel reunite in heaven
Supernatural got the nerve to bring back Bobby for a second, even though that made me cry like a baby, and then mention Castiel like nothing. Even more so, where was Dean’s reaction? Because the Dean Winchester we know would’ve asked where his best friend was and if Jack brought him back because he’s mighty and all powerful now. But no, we were robbed of a reunion scene where Cas pops in BABY with Dean, going along for a ride with his favorite Winchester.
3. Dean doesn’t get killed by the most random thing
After everything that Dean and Sam have been through….this is the way that Dean dies? Really? There was nothing epic on the horizon or did Supernatural not realize that they already gave us a finale in the form of the season finale? I need answers and I need them now. Because he should’ve died taking out the biggest bad out of all of them aka God if we’re being honest. This, the way he died, felt like a cop out from the same books that had Tony Stark die in Avengers while Pepper told him it was ok to go.
4. The Winchesters reuniting with Mary and John
I know that coronavirus is STILL spreading like wildfire, but they couldn’t film one scene with Mary and John? Even a socially distant one where they wave at Dean? Nothing? Come on Supernatural. We would’ve loved Dean’s ending a little more if this is the road you decided to take us down and not just him driving down a road in Baby for agessssss until Sam popped up after his own death. We could’ve had it all.
5. Castiel appearing and saving Dean
After everything these characters have gone through, it would’ve been perfect if Castiel appeared and saved Dean in the series finale. Jack is on a world tour of making things right. Wouldn’t this be one of those things? I’ve got to believe that it would be. And maybe, if given the chance, Dean will have the time he deserves to evaluate his feelings for Cas. That’s the least that these two deserve. Plus, Dean surviving means Sam wouldn’t have to face the world alone. And I’m always down for reuniting Team Free Will!
