Small talk is the worst, and I hate making it. It’s like, why do I need to talk to you about nothing? Do we really want to talk about the weather? Do you really want to talk about bullshit?
I am not your person for small talk.
And apparently I am the same as Jamie Dornan (words I never thought I would say), because he too thinks that making small talk is painful.
The Fifty Shades of Grey actor talked with Variety and the subject of small talk came up when he spoke about attempting to make small talk with strangers at industry parties with strangers.
“I think a lot of us are hiding aspects of ourselves, particularly in Hollywood, and how heightened those interactions are,” he said in his conversation with the outlet.
“It’s a show, and everyone’s on show and trying to give their best version of themselves, and you’re trying to give everybody the hits all the time. It’s kind of exhausting.”
Same thoughts. That’s definitely what small talk is, and I’d rather have my hand slammed in a door. Well, not really, that’s extreme, but I’d rather do anything than deal with small talk.
Do you like small talk? Is it painful to you also?
