I know that movies, television and music give us unrealistic expectations of love. But, I am okay with that. I would like to live in a fantasy more than reality most of the time.
But love isn’t always complicated. Some moments are kind and simple, and some people fit together and move in sync. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are one of those couples.
If you’ve been listening to folklore and reading everything about the album, you’ll have noticed that Taylor had a new collaborator, “William Bowery”, and if you’re like me, you’ve been trying to figure out who that is.
Well, during the Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions special that debuted on Disney+, Taylor admitted just who that was.
William Bowery is Joe Alwyn.
William Bowery worked with Taylor on “Exile” with Bon Iver, and “Betty.”
“There’s been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity ’cause it’s not a real person,” she explained on the sessions special and then explained about what it was like working with him.
“So, William Bowery is Joe, as we know. And Joe plays piano beautifully, and he’s just always playing and making things up and kind of creating things…’Exile’ was crazy because Joe had written that entire piano part and was singing the Bon Iver part. He was just singing it, the way that the whole first verse is. So I was entranced and asked if we could keep writing that one. It was pretty obvious that it should be a duet because he’s got such a low voice and it sounded really good sung down there in that register.”
Lord, I love that these two keep everything to themselves and have privacy. I also love that they share special things like this with us.
