The Winter mid-season finale of ‘Big Sky’ episode 1×05, “A Good Day to Die” left us with one hell of a cliffhanger so we’re glad the show is finally back. Episode 1×06 “The Wolves Are Always Out For Blood,” brought us many revelations. Let’s get into it.
Just Breathe

Hurray, Hurray, the three missing girls have finally been rescued. It’s not all peaches and cream though. Legarski is still alive, DAMN it! But also, not a shocker. We knew they weren’t going to just kill him off that easily. As the saying goes; “evil never dies.” Anyway, back to Cassie and her being a badass by rescuing Danielle, Grace, and Jerrie. Although the girls have been rescued, Cassie is not doing well at all. She’s suffering from some major PTSD and she could break at any moment. We suspect there has to be more behind her having such a strong reaction to shooting Legarski. Perhaps it’s a reminder of why she left the force? Only time will tell.
As Cassie is reeling from what has just happened, Ronald pulls up and sees all of the chaos happening and he knows he’s done for, now that the girls have been rescued. He hightails it out of there like a bat out of hell.
Jenny, who is also at the crime scene, questions whether there is any news about Cody’s whereabouts. Her and Cassies fears of Cody being dead are proved to be true when his truck is dug up from where Ronald and Legarski dumped it. Mind you, when they dumped the truck, Cody’s body was inside so it’s quite a shocker for both Cassie and Jenny to see him like that.
Just Keep Moving

Jenny is doing her best to keep it together after confirming that her husband is dead. She’s working on trying to set up a funeral, while trying to stay strong for her son Justin and she decides that throwing herself right back into work is just what she needs to keep from breaking down. Denise tries to convince her that she needs to give herself some time to grieve but she reminds her that one of Cody’s mottos was always to “just keep moving.”
Jenny is on a mission to bring in the trucker, because Cody lost his life trying to rescue the three girls. For her and Cassie, bringing in both kidnappers means they’ve truly succeeded.
Tying Up Loose Ends

Ronald is losing his shit and rightfully so. With the girls rescued, and Legarski revealed as one of the kidnappers, he knows it’s only a matter of time before he is captured himself. We know Ronald is a devious shit, so of course he’s got everything figured out to avoid capture as long as possible. His mom knows he’s involved in some way but he’s her son so it doesn’t seem like she wants to see him in jail for what he’s done so she lets him handle things in his way.
That involves him repainting his whole damn truck and changing the license plate. Oh, and did we mention he’s stalking Jerrie and snapping pics of her out and about? Seriously Jerrie, what the fuck? if I was just rescued after a kidnapping, my ass would be locked in my house until the second suspect was brought in. Ronald’s next mission is getting into Merilee’s house to find some stuff Legarski has hidden inside that could implicate him. Our guess is, he’s going to try and do it by pretending to be fake good guy “Mitchell.”
Just This One

Cody’s memorial has taken place and it was a nice one. Sad, but nice. Danielle, Grace, and Jerrie were in attendance because they wanted to pay their respects to the man who lost his life attempting to rescue them. Jenny and Cassie have a semi heart-to-heart over what Cody meant to them and we’re glad, because it felt a little selfish that Jenny wasn’t taking Cassie’s feelings into account. We get it, Cassie broke the “Girl Code” but that doesn’t mean her grief isn’t just as real. They both understand how much they need each other and we’re hopeful they mend their relationship.
After Cody’s memorial, Cassie is back on the job trying to figure out who the trucker is. Jenny shows up and they once again talk about the case. Cassie tells Jenny she should come work with her and be the other half of the detective agency to fill Cody’s spot. Jenny is apprehensive but she is just as determined to bring in the second kidnapper so she signs on, but tells Cassie it’s just for that case. We all know Jenny will stay long after they’ve solved the case and we’re okay with that because these two are a great team when they’re getting along.
Protect Jerrie At All Cost

Unlike Danielle and Grace, Jerrie doesn’t have anyone as a support system. Her family wrote her off, so she’s basically alone. We feel for her and she must be protected. She’s a fighter but she’s also been through a major trauma so she’s trying to cope. She’s jumpy which is to be expected especially now that she knows that asshole Ronald is stalking her and apparently knows where she lives. After she comes home from Cody’s memorial, she finds a note from Ronald with the words “You Don’t Learn” on her door. She flashes back to him saying those exact words and is terrified. So are we. Like we said, if we were kidnapped and knew that one of the kidnappers was still on the loose, we would be staying anywhere but at home. If Ronald is able to kidnap Jerrie again, we’re gonna be so pissed.
