When someone leaves a group, it isn’t easy. Granted, as fans, we don’t know what is really happening. We just know what social media and representatives say. And hey, I can accept that we don’t need to know everything.
When Jesy Nelson left Little Mix, I admit I felt a punch to the gut like when Zayn Malik left One Direction. I love Jesy, I find her extremely inspiring and super talented. I was devastated when she left Little Mix, but felt by her statement that she needed to go for her own mental health.
“The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,” she had said. The singer had a ton of pressure to live under in Little Mix, I can’t even imagine. And me, as a human being, I am a big believer in ones mental health coming first.
But I am happy that she hasn’t given up music. The singer has dropped hints that she is recording solo music.
On Friday, Jesy, who has become more active on social media (and yes, we know she’s still not that active), posted a video of her and music producer, Patrick Jordan Patrikios. She tagged him and songwriter Hanni “Sunny” Ibrahim in the video.
I can’t wait to hear Jesy’s solo music. She’s so talented and I know that I will remain a fan and follow her career.
Are you excited for solo music from Jesy Nelson? What are your thoughts?
