This is the post where shows that are currently on-air should come to die. I question why they are even still on for many reasons: because they are horrendous, the storyline has gone so far off track, endless seasons or it should just be retired. Let’s discuss, shall we.
Manifest
Ah, Manifest. You held so much potential in the palm of your hand when you first debuted. The trailer intrigued me from the start and the first episode wasn’t a huge letdown, but as the weeks went on it just got worse and worse.
I was expecting it to be somewhat like Lost, but it just lost me. It went too far from a missing flight that miraculously returned to far-out storylines that had me scratching my head. I can’t even watch it anymore. Now, some of you probably aren’t surprised that Manifest has made this list because Erin reviews it every week out of love for the show…not. You can read all of our coverage here.

Nancy Drew
I’m going to be very transparent, I have only watched the first episode of Nancy Drew. I’m also going to be biased because Nancy Drew was one of my favorite book series as a child. But how did Nancy Drew survive the first season? I’m genuinely curious because this show didn’t click with me at all and from what I remember of the book series it was vastly different.
I know that writers, showrunners, and networks take creative liberty but they went a little too far. The show was just ehh and it didn’t connect with me as the books did.
Riverdale
Riverdale was good for the first two seasons and I really enjoyed it. I loved the storyline, it was intriguing and it hooked me from the first episode. I loved watching Betty try to get over her love for Archie and start to fall for Jughead. Cheryl was…Cheryl and the black hood storyline was different. Then it went downhill and started to become too convoluted like Pretty Little Liars. I had enough of Pretty Little Liaresqe storyline so that was the end of Riverdale for me.

American Idol
American Idol has been on for 19 seasons. 19 freaking seasons. I know that it kicked off reality singing competitions in a big way, but why? Do we not have enough of them on air still? What does American Idol bring to the table that is still unique and fresh? Nothing. It’s time for American Idol to have a final season and move on to new things.
The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead was a fantastic show until they fucking killed Glenn. The moment that Negan hit him in the head with Lucille is the moment the show died for me. I haven’t turned it back on since. They took things too far and it was too much. My family still regularly watches the show so I will catch snippets of what is going on as I walk to the kitchen.
From those moments, I don’t regret my decision to stop watching. It sounds like they have just continued to reuse the same plots with different characters. Rinse and repeat. That’s not to say that there aren’t new things they haven’t done, but what has the show achieved from the first episode to the current one?
