We return one more week with Younger! After the revolution of the previous week, Younger 7×08 “The Baroness” feels like a transition episode more than anything else, but it gives us the opportunity to explore a little more about Kelsey and her new love interest as well as to experience a twist on the relationship between Liza and Quinn, while we find out what the future holds for Maggie. Let’s review!
Here we go!
Quinn does various things in Younger 7×08 “The Baroness” that makes us wonder if she’s sick, she’s got a fever, or something is wrong with her. She helps, apparently selflessly, Liza and her daughter with everything they ask of her. Liza is just as shocked as we are, and even though Quinn annoys her – just like us – she can’t demonize Quinn for this, on the contrary, she should thank her. So she does that.
The truth is that Quinn was amazing here, she almost seemed like a nice person. Almost. That is the key. Since this is Quinn, there was no shortage of sharp, subtle but malicious comments and that way of marking territory with Charles in front of Liza. But overall, for Quinn, she was pretty good and we have to give her credit.

Liza is humble enough to do it. Just like she is humble enough not to break her daughter’s heart by confessing to her what it hurts that she idolizes Quinn so much and has that connection with her, almost like a separate world that Liza cannot enter.
And that hurts a lot but she holds on, because it’s her daughter and she doesn’t want to hurt her, so Liza doesn’t tell her that Quinn and Charles are together and that it’s destroying her. She prefers to see her daughter happy, even if she has to swallow some toads. I admire Liza much more than I already did.
However, I don’t trust Quinn or her good intentions at all. Maybe in Younger 7×08 “The Baroness” she has been almost human with Liza but I’m convinced that it is a plan for Liza to trust her … and that later she will stab her in the back again. Quinn is a fake woman and that doesn’t change from one moment to the next.
By the way, I didn’t remember Liza’s ex-husband being so slimy. Chilling.
Kelsey has a big role in Younger 7×08 “The Baroness” and we’ve missed the time when she was given more screen time. This time around, she’s back in the spotlight… but not in a good way.
The reality show that Laurel helped her land turns out to be real sexist crap with a disgusting guy like Matt at the forefront. This character doesn’t have that swagger charm that Zane had, he’s just gross and an asshole.
He’s the typical sexist idiot who thinks he’s superior for having a penis and immediately makes me want to kick his ass when he appears on my screen. Luckily, Kelsey does it for me.
At first, she had to hold back … but with guys like that you have to speak loud and clear and I love when she does it and she leaves the asshole speechless. That’s my girl! I hope this Matt guy never shows up in Younger again.

As a counterweight, Rob appears. A kind, sweet … and arrogant guy, yes, but with that arrogance that is bearable and even adorable at times, a guy much more like Zane who helps Kelsey … and asks her to a date.
I think this guy showed up to be Kelsey’s love interest and while I still hope Zane appears in the series finale, regretting being an idiot… I’m not going to refuse to meet this new love interest. It’s really going to be difficult for me to see Rob as anything other than Zane’s emergency surrogate though… and I don’t think I will put my heart into this couple. So I hope they are just a momentary patch. We will see…
Maggie’s situation gets much worse in Younger 7×08 “The Baroness.” Her boss accusing her of transphobia has many consequences. Maggie’s career is in danger as she’s canceled by her circle and by all of social media, creating bad publicity not only for her but also for the gallery. Of course, this is still a manipulation from her boss who writes the most aggressive comments about her. And I love the way Maggie deals with her.
Maggie is blameless in this. She just hooked up one night with a beautiful woman who attracted her. When she found out that she was married to her boss, she just cut her off, but she didn’t know how to get out of that mess because how do you tell your boss that you slept with her wife without knowing it? Is it up to you to tell that her wife cheated on her? It’s not easy at all doing the right thing here and Maggie did her best. And I love when she says it to this vengeful woman’s face.
It’s understandable that she is hurt, angry and furious but all those feelings must be directed towards her wife, who is the one who cheated on her. But instead of doing it, she excuses her. A part of me understands her, she needs to blame someone and Maggie is the perfect culprit, because blaming her wife is too painful.

It would mean having to assume that her marriage is mortally wounded and she just can’t take it so her target is Maggie. And that’s when we start to have problems because this woman makes me feel bad for her until she wants to sink Maggie, nobody touches my baby!
Unfortunately, it seems that she gets what she wants. The gallery that Maggie fought so hard for is ruined. This is a serious blow not only for her career, but also for her. She must start over from scratch. It’s totally unfair… and it makes me want to break something. Good thing she can count on Liza and Josh for whatever she needs. My poor baby…
