The list of things that I would do if I was cheated on is long. Most of them are just petty moves, but I embrace my petty. Being cheated on is something difficult to go through – in a committed relationship or married – it doesn’t matter.
The way that I look at it is, if you didn’t have enough respect not to hurt me with your cheating then I don’t have enough respect to not be a bitch.
One person that I think we can all learn from is One Tree Hill star, Jana Kramer. The actress split from her husband of six years, and reports said it was because of cheating. While on her Whine Down, podcast she answered fan questions and she talked about something that I applaud her for.
She sold her wedding ring. This is a move I, personally, applaud.
The star is in the midst of redoing parts of her house and has used the money from the sale of the wedding ring to finance some of the updates.
“I have redone pretty much my entire house…I sold my ring, and that money from the ring paid for the furniture and the new additions to the house,” she said.
That’s what I am talking about. That’s what I would do and I don’t even consider it petty. I consider it fair.
“I debated. I’m like, ‘I’m going to sell this ring and then maybe buy myself something.’ Like a bag, or my divorce present. I was like, ‘Honestly, what would make me happiest is to have new energy in the house.’ So I took that money and gave it to [interior designers],” she continued.
If you’ve followed Jana on social media you know that they put a lot of work into the house and everything was memories of the two of them together. So making the house her own was something important.
“I needed to create a new space that felt like me and felt like mine. So now, I have someone over right now painting the bar room. I’m going to make it this really cool, girlie wine bar. So that’s helped me a lot.” she said.
