I am full on crying as I watch the trailer for The Kissing Booth 3, because this franchise has been such a great part of all of our lives for the past few years.
The trailer brings the beginning of an end of an era, but it seems like what the movie is going to do is be the ultimate coming of age story, ending with Elle finding out who she is and what she wants.
She’s torn between the two people she loves the most in the world and doesn’t know how to come to terms with the choices that she has to make. Probably because all of her choices seem to revolve around what other people want and Elle doesn’t think of herself.
“Maybe your choices have more to do with what other people want. Maybe it’s time to think about what you want.” Lee and Noah’s Mom tells her.
It’s the most solid advice that I have ever heard.
The movies official synopsis is, “It’s the summer before Elle heads to college, and she’s facing the hardest decision of her life: whether to move across the country with her dreamy boyfriend Noah or fulfill her lifelong promise to go to college with her BFF Lee. Whose heart will Elle break?”
Maybe though, no matter what, Elle will walk away being true to herself and that’s all we would want for her.
Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young & Molly Ringwald star in the final installment, which premieres on Netflix, August 11th.
