Leverage: Redemption is here! This is a long awaited comeback for both the fans and the entire cast and crew. After our exclusive interviews with the entire cast and our advanced reviews, it’s time to review Leverage: Redemption 1×03 “The Rollin’on the River Job.” In this episode the new dynamics of the team are put to the test and trust will be a key factor in understanding that being part of the team and feeling part of it are not the same thing. Ready?
Here we go!
In Leverage: Redemption 1×03 “The Rollin’on the River Job” the team has to get used to Breanna… and she to them. The team is so used to Harrison that the way Breanna does things or the way she handles all the stuff still shocks them and they are like “why the hell didn’t you do this?”
This episode is about adaptation and trust.
The team had to trust Breanna in life and death situations, which put her abilities through a great test… because if they are going to function as a team they need to trust each other.
However, the team needs time to adjust to Hardison’s farewell and the way Breanna does her thing … and she needs time to feel like a part of the team. Because being part of the team and feeling part of the team are two very different things. In her conversation with Harry we could see that she doesn’t really believe in what they do or that helping others helps them.
Everyone in some way has gone through this process, understanding that the justice they do, that using their gifts for something good helps them to be better and that it makes them feel that they are part of something bigger, it makes them feel that they are doing this with family.

Breanna is not used to feeling this way. The only one who felt like family was Hardison but he… left. They are all gone. Why would these people, this team, be different? After all, she’s just standing in for Hardison. Breanna is somehow waiting for the moment when the team abandons her and puts her aside because she got used to disappointment and not expecting more from people.
So she needs time to trust, to feel that this team is not going to leave her behind, that they are not going to leave or abandon her but that they will stay by her side. Breanna needs time to put her heart into this and know that she is on solid ground… to feel that this is her place.
That’s why I love that Breanna and Harry shared that key scene. Harry has also just joined the team and is going through a process similar to Breanna’s. He too had to close his eyes, trust, and take that leap of faith.
Harry’s problems are more about redemption and feeling like that’s the right path but it was just as difficult for him to realize that this team doesn’t judge him and accept him for who he is, that they will never leave him behind once he’s in and they are giving him what he so desperately seeks. Breanna will get there too.
“I’m Parker” is the line from Leverage: Redemption 1×03 “The Rollin’on the River Job”, I think we all agree on this. I mean, it’s her, Parker, that wonderful queen since time immemorial. We all wonder how Parker does what she does, Breanna but there is no explanation other than that, she is Parker.
I have to say that I loved these moments between them. Breanna is Hardison’s sister and he would want the two women he loves the most in the world to get along, he would want Parker to take care of Breanna for as long as he is away because he would not have trusted anyone but her to do so.

And that’s what Parker is doing. She’s keeping an eye on Breanna as she trusts her and teaches her a bit of what she makes so that she learns how to survive beyond computers. Parker joins Breanna on the team and I really liked that.
But I’m so sorry… Parker misses Hardison as much as we do, and Breanna feels the same thing. When she finally got her brother back … he is away again and for Parker it is just as difficult because they mean so much to each other … Parker cannot imagine her work, her life without Hardison involved in it, she cannot. And in Leverage: Redemption 1×03 “The Rollin’on the River Job” she has to.
Sometimes she still hopes to see him behind computers or she expects him to whisper into her ear in the middle of a mission… but that won’t happen for a while. That is why she approaches Breanna, they both share a similar pain and that unites them and, together, they feel closer to Hardison.
Sophie! She is great too and I don’t think we say it enough. Sophie is perfect and I just want to hug Eliot because he is so tough but so cute at the same time. And Sophie and Parker together are SO COOL! I mean, perfection, that scene was the best. A true friendship. I love them so much. Because a friend is always there to listen when you need it. ALWAYS.

Regarding the case of the week in Leverage: Redemption 1×03 “The Rollin’on the River Job”, I have to comment that it is really wonderful to see how good people, people who really deserve it, get justice. It really makes you want to pass the screen and be part of the team just to help them out.
