I have to admit that I want to see Stillwater, but the chances of me heading into a movie theater – well those are slim to none. Then again, I am a little torn, because the movie did receive a five minute standing ovation at Cannes.
And that says something.
The movie is about, “an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter.”
Stillwater hits theaters on July 30. Will you head to theaters to see it?
