Leverage: Redemption is here! This is a long awaited comeback for both the fans and the entire cast and crew. After our exclusive interviews with the entire cast and our advanced reviews, it’s time to review Leverage: Redemption 1×05 “The Paranormal Hacktivity Job.” In this episode we see Halloween in July and the episode gives Breanna a chance to shine and feel like part of the team for the first time. In addiction, we find out why this case is so important to Parker. Ready?
Here we go!
Leverage: Redemption 1×05 “The Paranormal Hacktivity Job” says: “We can’t celebrate Halloween in July? Hold my beer.” And we discover a different episode but, in essence, just as special as the others.
I have to admit that the episodes of Halloween-themed shows don’t excite me because they tend to lose their essence in order to give “fear” and force that terror quite a bit. However, Leverage: Redemption 1×05 “The Paranormal Hacktivity Job” did a very good job with this because yes, it is a Halloween themed episode so we will have ghosts, strange noises and some scares.
But we will have the usual baddies wanting to be more bad than ever and the team, in this case only the girls, joining together to finish them off. Moreover, on this occasion, the woman who asks for help joins the team for the job and I loved that, I didn’t expect it and I like it.
Girl power!

I loved seeing how these four strong, determined and brave women came together to give what they deserve to some idiots who had dared to mess with one of them.
This case gives Breanna the opportunity to demonstrate to the team all that she is capable of and also to strengthen her bonds with Sophie and Parker. Until that moment, she had always felt like something of an intruder. She was there to replace her brother, so she did the work and she is done.
But now, in Leverage: Redemption 1×05 “The Paranormal Hacktivity Job”, Breanna begins to feel a bond, a special camaraderie with Sophie and Parker. Breanna begins to feel part of the team and begins to feel that she belongs there.
And this case is not special only for Breanna, it is also special for Parker. This case, a case in which there are some idiots involved who want to be funny by scaring someone by pretending that their house is haunted is not what the team normally does, but Parker insists on taking this case. Why?
The answer is the unknown. Parker had a difficult childhood and she was always terrified of what she couldn’t understand, what she couldn’t see, the unknown. So she understands how this woman feels not being able to see exactly what is happening but she is suffering the consequences. They have to help her.
And they do. But in Leverage: Redemption 1×05 “The Paranormal Hacktivity Job” things suddenly get serious. What seemed like a case of two idiots trying to scare a woman out of her house turns into a murder case with a hit man, one of the deadliest and most dangerous, involved.
When that monster has pointed at Sophie point-blank, I had a small heart attack and I’m not hiding. Nobody hurts our baby. And I was not the only one. Breanna felt the same when she saw Sophie in danger.
I think that until then she had not realized how important these people were to her, how they had gotten under her heart in such a short time and without her realizing it but when she saw Sophie with a gun pointed at her … she felt afraid.

Luckily, Parker and Breanna are there to cover Sophie’s back, despite their fear for her, and the two of them, along with Sophie, come up with a plan to finish off that man and the other two idiots from one time.
But no one can take away my heart attack. Not the impression of seeing Sophie like this, motionless and full of blood. My head told me that it was all a plan and it wasn’t real, but seeing her like this… has shocked and affected me.
However, an unexpected ally joins them. One of the idiots who were there really didn’t want to be there. He didn’t see another way out but he didn’t want anyone to get hurt and when he really sees that the guy is going to kill Sophie, someone innocent and he sees himself with a gun in his hand … he … he wants to get away from it and get out of there.
Sophie gives him a solution: help them. It is the only way out for him. The only way to get a second chance. And he takes advantage of it. So the girls team helps not just one person, but two as they catch one of the most dangerous hit men.
Good job!

And I’m not the only one who thinks so. When Harry and Eliot join them and the girls comment on their adventure, Eliot nods to everyone but especially Breanna. At first, she was a little defensive, it was one thing to have felt accepted by Parker and Sophie and quite another to do it by Eliot. Breanna was rejected too many times not to get defensive …
But she has no reason for it. Eliot officially welcomes her in a subtle but effective way. He accepts her on the team, as part of it, and trusts her, without doubting, just as he trusts in the others. And so Breanna feels for the first time truly part of the team.
We, for our part, have to wipe away a tear of pride and joy that got into our eyes …
