Leverage: Redemption is here! This is a long awaited comeback for both the fans and the entire cast and crew. After our exclusive interviews with the entire cast and our advanced reviews, it’s time to review Leverage: Redemption 1×07 “The Double-Edged Sword Job.” In this episode we revisit the past, meet a new character who will challenge Eliot and Breanna will have to beat someone on her own ground. Ready?
Here we go!
In Leverage: Redemption 1×07 “The Double-Edged Sword Job” is once again a challenge for Breanna, this time, for her wit, skills and cunning.
I have to say that I love the way we are exploring this character. In the previous episode, we found out about her past and the suffering that she still carries and in this episode, it’s about exploring her abilities.
The bad guy of the week is someone as smart and sibylline as her, therefore, both are even in technical skills, only this guy uses them to make money without caring about people’s well-being.
Until then, the only person Breanna had ever met who could compare to her in skills was Hardison but they both always had a sense of justice in what they did.
However, this guy – and I thought I was antisocial, but seeing this guy … I’m not so sure – he only cares about money, nothing more. He doesn’t think about the evil that his inventions and technology can do if they fall into the wrong hands, as has happened in this episode, worse, he doesn’t care at all.

But one of the first things I learned in law class, like class 101, is that when something is created, be it a law or an invention or a technology, we have to think about all its uses, the good and the bad, calculate all the possibilities to understand the true justice of what we are creating. If what we are doing is really good or not.
And what this guy does is not. But Breanna must be creative to beat him in the terrain they both dominate. In fact, the whole case of the week in Leverage: Redemption 1×07 “The Double-Edged Sword Job” has been like a game of chess, always waiting for the next move.
That’s why I’m so proud of Breanna, because it was not easy for her to see a reflection of what the knowledge that she has can do in someone without conscience, without scruples.
At the same time, this has served Breanna to realize who she really is. She wouldn’t be able to do what this idiot does. She is a good person.
Yes, her methods are somewhat illegal but she uses them to do justice. Breanna, through facing the shape of her shoe in the intellectual field, and her own fears about not knowing how to handle the situation, her terror of failure when the whole team depended on her, found another piece of herself.
And if I don’t say it, I’ll burst …
Kick his damn ass, Breanna!
On this occasion, in Leverage: Redemption 1×07 “The Double-Edged Sword Job” there is also time to revisit the past.
Parker and Eliot meet a person they helped a few years ago who is once again in danger from the technology of the cocoon that Breanna and the entire team are facing.
And it’s there, in the middle of the mission, that Eliot also finds the oven of his shoe: a policewoman who *almost* caught him. And there is… a fiery and unresolved sexual tension between them. Sparks are felt in the air.

This story has its parallels with the love of Nate and Sophie, this is how they started … and our heart sinks divided between nostalgia and pain.
We are not the only ones to have realized this because Sophie also noticed it and the scene that she has with Eliot is really special. I… I confess that I cried because it is a simple scene, unpretentious but that means so much…
“My whole life changed when the right person arrested me.” Say it, queen, say it! Here we smile while wiping our tears. Nate got into Sophie’s life, under her skin, burned into her heart … and it all started with an arrest, with a race against time.
She will always miss him but it’s worth living what they experienced. Why can’t Eliot experience something like this? He just has to try and get carried away. He deserves to be happy, he just has to believe it and she seems to be the one. She is a strong, confident woman who stands up to him and challenges him.

Hopefully this story between Eliot and her is only just beginning because it has the potential to be a great love story, the kind that leave their mark.
