AVALANCE IS MARRIED!!!!
Okay, so there was a ton of things that went down in Legends of Tomorrow‘s “The Fungus Amongus.” However, it all pales in comparison to seeing our favorite co-Captains – Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe tie the knot.
Thank Beebo too for the Avalance wedding as it’s definitely a high spot in an otherwise very inconsistent season of Legends of Tomorrow. If we are being honest, Bishop was a lame villain. The most interesting he ever was is in “The Fungus Amongus” and that’s only because they brought back a younger version of him to save Spooner. The only appropriate ending for Bishop was getting killed by Mick and Kayla’s alien kids. So let us never think about him again and focus back on the bright spots of “The Fungus Amongus,” the love shared between Sara and Ava.
While Avalance’s wedding was very much a rushed event, that didn’t make it any less beautiful. The lovely outdoor setting, their gorgeous dresses, Gary walking Ava down the aisle, and their beautiful vows. Heck, Avalance’s love was able to resurrect the Fountain and save humanity!!! That has to put it in the upper tier of CW/DC weddings for just that right there. Much like Sara and Ava, they weren’t perfect but exactly what they were supposed to be: Simple and from the heart. As good as Ava’s was, let’s highlight Sara’s vows to Ava as a perfect message of their love for one another.
“And so today, here in front of all of our friends, I want to make these vows to you: I will always be your champion, your lover. I will always be your family. I will listen to you even when the words are hard to hear, and I will let you in even when I’m afraid. I will support you, I will fight for you and, above all, Ava Sharpe, I will love you.“
Who knows what adventures await Legends of Tomorrow next season, especially now that the Waverider blew up at the end of “The Fungus Amongus.” However, no matter what happens in those adventures, Sara and Ava will be there to take on those challenges together.

SO LONG AND FAREWELL
“The Fungus Amongus” also has us saying good-bye to two Legends as Constantine and Mick are officially no longer part of the team. Constantine getting to say goodbye to Zari was a nice moment while also keeping with the John Constantine we love and love to get mad at sometimes. Constantine’s story was one of addiction throughout the season and I’m glad it didn’t have a bright and happy ending to it. Because those stories sometimes don’t, sadly.
No longer bound to the fountain but bound to a demon that has his soul again, he leaves Zari with some touching words and a little bit of a mystery. What exactly will that key unlock that John handed Zari? Have we truly seen the last of John Constantine? One might answer the other.
As for Mick, he’s learned from the mistakes of the past. He doesn’t want to be a deadbeat dad to his and Kayla’s alien kids so he leaves to go help raise them. The heart-to-heart Mick and Sara have is touching but also with a mild twinge of sadness. They have been there since the beginning and now only Sara is left of the original OG Legends.
So now what’s next for our Legends of Tomorrow? No Waverider means they might be stuck in the past for a very long while. Or they could figure something out and be time-traveling again in no time. Trying to make sense of this wacky show is not something anyone can figure out.
LEGENDARY THOUGHTS
- Mick and Kayla’s babies were kind of cute in a octopus-like sort of way.
- Gary helping out Ava when she was worried about her vows is definitely the best Gary scene in Legends of Tomorrow history. No doubt.
- Glad Spooner and her mom got one last moment together before Spooner left to go re-join the team.
- Nate being the one to marry Sara and Ava just felt right. After all, there’s no bigger Avalance cheerleader than him.
- Season 7??? This show feels so long gone from the Hawkman-Hawkgirl stuff in season 1.
Legends of Tomorrow SEASON 7 is coming soon!! (really soon actually– OCTOBER 13th!! see you all then!)
