Chicago P.D. 9×08 “Fractures” is probably going to break our hearts. Just the promo has us both super concerned, and super hopeful this Roy/Voight/FBI/Hailey storyline is going where we want it to go. Where we need it to go. But this is TV, and there are no certainties, so yes, we’re a little worried.
Not about Upstead, though. Or about Hailey — or Jay — leaving the show in any way, shape or form. Upstead has been shaken, of course, but they’ve held, and they’ll continue holding. And Jay and Hailey make this show infinitely better. They’re not going anywhere.
The real question is whether Hank Voight is. Or, at least, whether he’s finally going to face the one thing he should have faced seasons ago: real consequences.
Let’s hope it is. Because it’s not even about time, we’re seasons past time. And this show’s entire message continues to be compromised by the fact that Voight is allowed to do what he wants and never gets punished for.

As the team investigates the stabbing of a father with two young daughters, they begin to suspect there is more to the story than meets the eye. The FBI investigation into Roy Walton’s death intensifies while Voight, Upton and Halstead feel the heat.
