When it comes to the FBI‘s on CBS you can guarantee that you are going to get quite a few things – secrets, action, and some really great acting. When it comes to FBI: International you know that you are going to get some great character development and a lot of shit unfolding.
But we admit, what we have wanted to know is more about Forrester. Especially with the way that 1×05 ended. His Mom is still alive, she’s caught up in all sorts of espionage, and he’s well… he’s just all sorts of bitter and can we truly blame him? Nope. He’s got issues. And yes, we know we find them attractive, but no one asked for your judgement, so please slow down.
This weeks episode of FBI: International is titled, The Secrets She Knows. Which if we’re going by just the title, we should all know that could apply to any woman. We’re good at keeping secrets.
The synopsis, “After a U.S. intelligence negotiator goes missing and her ransacked Paris apartment is discovered to be covered in her blood, the team is on the clock to find her before the country’s nuclear secrets fall into the wrong hands.”
The show, which stars Luke Kleintank as Special Agent Scott Forrester, Heida Reed as Special Agent Jamie Kellett, Carter Redwood as Special Agent Andre Raines, Vinessa Vidotto as Special Agent Cameron Vo, and Christiane Paul as Europol Agent Katrin Jaeger is a show that you should be watching. It’s unlike other shows and I am pretty ashamed of myself that I can’t articulate why.
But this episode was especially good. It was different and the truth is that I am not sure that any of it is true, but whomever wrote the episode definitely has a great imagination.

NO DICK THAT GOOD
Look, ones mind can only handle so much. Bridget is apparently someone who gathers nuclear information and briefs the US government. All of that information in ones head is a lot. Also since I am going to admit that I am dumb here, my hands clap for her because she can understand all that shit.
She seems pretty innocent, but she starts running her mouth when she’s out at a bar, flirting (badly) with some dude who is in France for work.
Bridget has like Q Level clearance and her disappearing is a red flag. The fly team and Jaeger head to Paris to find Bridget. The whole thing needing to stay on the down low, though how do you do that? Like how are you going to look for someone when everyone is in Paris (like foreign nationals) without telling people?
Bridget is highly trained counter intelligence officer and so the thing is, that if she doesn’t want to be found, she’s most likely not going to be. Well, that would be unless Forrester’s team is coming for you, because they don’t give up.
In her brain are all of the nuclear secrets of the USA and some foreign countries. She’s someone that anyone would want to get their hands on. But like hey, if that is the case, why doesn’t she have like full time body guards. Put our tax dollars to work.
The team finds that Bridget’s apartment – where it looks like she’s been taken and is hurt – has been staged. Vo and Raines don’t overlook a lot and they find all the clues that no one else has. I am not knocking the French police or whomever it is there doing forensics, but I admire Vo’s willingness to look in the trash.
Hard pass for me. I don’t even like taking out the trash.
But why would she go rogue? What would make her want to leave? Personally, the pressure would be getting to me. That many secrets. And then the stigma of needing mental health help? It’s a lot. I’ve seen enough spy movies to know that means you are probably going to be killed. And so yes, I am sure that Bridget has seen them too.
The team finds a video of Bridget exiting a bank and find out that she withdrew a million euros. But then, as they do more digging, they find out just what is going on.
Let me say this, there is no dick that is good enough to betray your morals or your country. Repeat after me – there are more dicks in the sea.
Bridget was in a relationship with an Iranian negotiator. His country found out about it and was blackmailing Bridget. See, she inadvertently told Iran about two people who were double agents and they were trying to blackmail her into being a spy. The people that she accidentally gave up were executed.
The Iranians were trying to get Bridget to spy, but she couldn’t and wouldn’t. She felt horrible about what she’d already done, but she knew she was in a loosing situation because of what she had already done.
The pressure of what Bridget does for a living was already a lot. She’d been hiding anti-psychotics in her medicine cabinet. She was breaking and she didn’t ask for help. She couldn’t.

We know now that the Iranian negotiator, Ali, had given Bridget the money to run. What he doesn’t tell them was that he was going to run with her. He was willing to talk to them, but when he did, he didn’t think that his room was bugged, and so yup – he’s out of play now.
And there’s the whole Pentagon authorizing the use of deadly force on Bridget. Ummm… she’s an American citizen. WTF. Sure, I get that she’s got a lot of shit in her brain that no one wants to get out. I respect that.
But like what about getting her help?
The thing about Forrester is that even when he’s given a directive, he’s one to take it, but he’s also one to do the right thing. He’s not going to just take the order and go with it. He wants to save Bridget.
I think that in Bridget he sees his Mom. With the knowledge that his Mom is alive, his whole mind is being fucked with. He knows what it is like to see a woman make bad decisions and he doesn’t have the answer as to why his Mom did it, so he’s trying to understand Bridget.
And when they find her, she’s about to jump off a bridge. She’s broken. Forrester tells her that they can send her to a hospital that can get her help. His determination to save her, to talk to her, to make sure that she’s okay is admirable.
She was in love with Ali. She believed in him. She betrayed everything that she believed in for love. But I would like repeat that there is no dick that good in life. None.
Like repeat after me people – there is always other fish in the sea. Do not settle for bullshit.
Have to admit I was happy that they didn’t kill her. Though, I wonder where she is going if that’s gonna help her.

FINDING MAMA
CIA douchebag from the last episode has Forrester questioning everything about life and obsessed with finding his Mama. Then again, if my Mom disappeared and someone told me that she was still alive, I wouldn’t be able to let it go either.
It would be kinda hard to not let it overtake your life. Like I would need to know why she left, why she did the things that she did. Hell, I would wanna know why I wasn’t important enough.
And then again, when the world was telling me to let it go, I would also be more determined to find out where the fuck she is. And I do believe that Forrester would and will dig in.
We can’t wait to see where that takes him and the team.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- The mercenary that Bridget hired is a douche
- I always knew that love lock bridges were a curse (that’s the bitter part of me speaking)
- The new Iranian delegator scares me
- Jaeger is growing on me – her sarcasm is top notch
- “If you ever come at us incorrectly again” – bitch please. Look negotiator dude, calm your panties
- Bridgets co-workers remind me of midwest housewives. Remind me to never under estimate the people I know in the midwest again.
