Oh yeah! STARZ announced this Tuesday that Outlander stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish will hit the road again for a six-episode second season of the hit travel docuseries Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham – this time in New Zealand. And we have 5 reasons to watch this second season of the show. Ready?
Here we go!
Heughan and McTavish conceived the original idea and serve as executive producers alongside Alexander Norouzi, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma, and Kevin Johnston who also serves as director. Although Sam and Graham are not the only reason to see the show before we will remember, what can we expect from the show?
Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham is a fun-filled buddy travelogue led by Outlander stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish. Heughan and McTavish will continue their immersive adventure travel experience, this time in New Zealand. They will revel in the Scottish influence of New Zealand while diving into its history.
And now it’s time to talk about why we can’t wait for season 2!
Kilts
Let’s face it, we’ve loved kilts ever since we saw Outlander. Sam in a kilt is something from another world. And we look forward to much more of this in Men In Kilts season 2. We mean, even though they will no longer be in Scotland, Sam and Graham are still Scots and we hope they don’t forget their roots (you know what we mean…)
New Zealand
New Zealand is a magical place full of mystery, ideal to fully immerse yourself in its history, its traditions, and its people. The irony is that we are used to seeing New Zealand in our favorite movies but we don’t even know that is New Zealand indeed. Season 2 of Men In Kilts will be the perfect opportunity to discover the country where some of our favorite movies are set. And to go much further than that.
From here I want to leave an idea for the location of season 3: Spain. It also has Celtic tradition and well, here is a very willing travel guide. Just saying…(wink, wink.)
Sam & Graham Friendship
If there is something that makes this show special, it’s that they are two friends discovering new things together. Of course, there is a script involved but the chemistry, the camaraderie, some gestures, winks, and jokes speak of the trust that exists between them and that cannot be faked or scripted. Those moments are the truly special ones. They are the ones that make you part of the history, of the moment…they are the moments in which you feel that you are discovering the country with them.
Dips
We mean…just look at that gif! Does anyone sign up to take a dip next to Sam? We are more than willing…maybe season 2 of Men In Kilts is our moment. Who knows…
Tux
A man in a tux is… something else. But if that man is Sam Heughan, that’s something else entirely. We don’t know what it is, maybe the mixture of his bearing and how well everything fits this man or that combination of *sinful* thoughts that assail us when we see Sam so elegant but hell, yes, we would see season 2 of Men In Kilts just to see him dressed like that again.
Men In Kilts season 2 will air on STARZ.
