Getting Covid-19 sucked. Like it really sucked. As a person who still experiences side effects and lives in fear of getting it again, it gives me anxiety.
Over the pandemic we’ve all heard a lot about productions getting shut down due to Covid-19 and we can’t even imagine what it would be like to have to shut down the production.
On The Batman, production shut down when star Robert Pattinson contracted the virus.
When talking to Variety, he was asked how people on the production dealt with the situation.
“It was right at the peak of people not really knowing what exactly was going on. We’d set up a protocol to make the project work, and it just so happened I think I was the first person who had to use the protocol,” he said. Can’t help but laugh that he says things so casually, but that is Rob and part of his charm.
“I mean, I was just kind of embarrassed by the whole thing, to be honest. It was so early on after we started shooting and everyone was just so sweet. Andy Serkis, who I was working with at the time, was absolutely lovely about it. I was terrified of what was gonna happen to production. But it all actually was kind of a good proof of concept for how to proceed, and after that point, nothing really happened anyway. It was lucky.” he added
Don’t know why it is embarrassing to him because the truth is, we all run the risk of getting it. But as long as you take the necessary precautions there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
And yes, we’ll use this as an opportunity to tell you that if you aren’t you should get vaccinated.
The Batman is in theaters now.
