Next up on our series of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds roundtable interviews is Ethan Peck, who plays Spock. Spock is perhaps the most beloved and closely guarded character in the Star Trek fandom. While there are some people in the fandom who will be satisfied with no one save Leonard Nimoy, I believe Peck honors Nimoy with his performance.
Peck is a method actor when it comes to Spock. As I’ve mentioned in previous Trek coverage, Peck has watched The Original Series, made note of every philosophical text Spock referenced, and read them. That’s commitment, and he has earned this Trek fan’s respect. He is also gifted with a deep and commanding voice that made Nimoy the spokesman for many commercials in the 70s and 80s. He’s blessed with that same kind of Spock-like voice that can make reading the ingredients of your breakfast cereal, well, to use a Spock-ism, fascinating.
But I’ll let Ethan speak for himself. Check out this roundtable interview with Ethan Peck.
Thank you to Paramount and ViacomCBS for inviting Fangirlish to participate in these interviews! Thanks also to Ethan Peck for consenting to the interview and his thoughtful responses. I’m so excited to watch you on my screen again this year.
Stay tuned to Fangirlish for all your Star Trek news, reviews, and information. We’ll be sharing more roundtable interviews with the rest of the cast of Strange New Worlds soon.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will premiere on May 5, 2022, on Paramount+.
