One thing that annoys me about Frances, but something that I understand, is her want to not tell anyone anything. She feels like she can handle anything, even when she can’t. She doesn’t know how to let people in or let people help her.
And that’s a problem. Because Frances definitely needs help. Her bank account is overdrawn and her Dad hasn’t made a payment in six weeks. She can’t get ahold of her Dad and she relies on him to pay her bills.
Him disappearing and not depositing the money that she counts on can really affect her.

LETTING YOUR GUARD DOWN
Frances and Bobbi have definitely been going through it. Everything feels awkward and out of sorts. So there is no shock that they are always questioning each other if they are avoiding the other one, but the other part of it is that they both have a lot going on.
The issue is that they don’t communicate.
Frances goes to bed and wakes up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain. She doesn’t wake up Bobbi, she holds her own hair back as she gets violently ill. I can’t help but feel for her – I know that it sucks to get ill, but doesn’t want to tell anyone.
The truth is that Frances is so stubborn and thinks that she’s a burden, but doesn’t get that letting people in will help. It is not always easy, but it is something that will make you grow.
Frances needs help and to be honest about her feelings. The next morning, she leaves for school and gets a text from Bobbi to meet her outside the arts block for lunch.
Frances is not feeling well and it shows. She’s pale, shaky, and can’t figure out her surroundings. But she’s not willing to be sick. She goes to meet Bobbi and while she’s on her way, she faints.
Bobbi calls for her and runs to help her. She asks for help and student help her get Frances out of the rain. She’s barely able to come to, but there is a panic in her voice that you hear and you feel for Bobbi.
When Frances comes to, Bobbi wants to take care of her – get her to a doctor, take her to the ER, but Frances says no. She’s insistent that she just wants to go home. She’ll be fine. She insists that she’ll be fine.

YOUR BEST FRIEND IS THERE FOR YOU
When they get home. Bobbi is there with her, helping her get settled. Like a good friend, she goes to run a bath and tells Frances to just wait for a second. But Frances can barely stand. Taking off her shoes is too much.
Bobbi asks if she’ll need any help with the rest, besides her shoes. Frances tries to make a joke of it, but there is no joke. Bobbi helps her to the bathroom, where Frances sits and waits. She tries to take off her own shirt, but can’t do that. Bobbi is noticing everything and comments that who knew that she could be that nurturing.
Frances did.
Frances knew that Bobbi could and would be there for others. Part of me thinks that Bobbi is jealous of Nick and that’s why she’s been weird. The other part of me thinks that Bobbi still loves Frances. I am not sure what it is. But when she brings up Nick, Frances tells her not to. She tells her that her and Nick and fighting. Bobbi asks what about. Frances says she doesn’t know and doesn’t know what the fuck is going on. Bobbi asks if she told Nick about when she was in the hospital Frances says she didn’t and doesn’t know why.
Bobbi goes to get towels and to do something for her best friend. She calls Nick and tells him about Frances being in pain and walks into the bathroom, forcing Frances to take the call.
And it’s what she needs. She needs Nick to come over.
When your friend is in pain, or in your own way, it’s your responsibility as a friend to be there to guide them. To be there for them.
And it’s a lot for Frances and Bobbi to do.
Bobbi and Frances see things differently. They always have. But they’ve never really talked about it. So seeing them talk about their breakup and the way that they see things is important.
Bobbi was the real MVP here.

HE’S HERE
After what happened with Nick last time, I am shocked that these two feel so much peace around each other. But when Nick walks into Frances seems to be at ease, but Nick seems to be in pain.
Bobbi had told him to be nice, but I don’t think he was ever intending to be mean.
He says he was worried about her and asks her if this has ever happened before. I expected her to lie, but she tells him it happened the night she called him and he said she sounded weird. You could see the pain in his eyes and the regret in his actions. He asks if they know what it might be and she says not yet. They thought that she was having a miscarriage, and he closes his eyes and apologizes and tells her she should have told him. He looks distraught and for a moment I feel for him.
I am not saying that their relationship is this normal thing or that it should feel easy for either one of them. But I am saying that I really didn’t expect their feelings to run this deep.
I also didn’t expect Nick to shock me.
He sit by her and apologizes for what happens. The two both want to apologize and they say some stupid things to each other. They apologize for the things that they have said to each other.
He says there is something else. He told Melissa.
Yes, I am shocked too. Frances is shocked. He told Melissa about the affair the day after Frances and him fought. He needed to be honest with her. Frances asks how she reacted. He thought she’d be angry, it was a hard conversation and he told her everything.

He told Melissa that he wants to keep seeing Frances. He looks Frances in the eyes, and he knows he’s been a coward and put her through so much. Nick says he’s not a great person, but he loves her and he should have said it earlier, but he didn’t know if she wanted to hear it or not.
My mouth dropped.
He admitted he loves her.
She doesn’t know what to say. But I love when she asked him how much earlier? How much earlier had he wanted to tell her? From the beginning he says.
I would have died if I was her. Romantic shit always gets me. She smiles. Shes crying. He asks if she’s alright and she says I love you too.
She says she’s so tired and he helps her under the covers. He really wants to be there for her. He can stay the night and she agrees. She closes her eyes and he says lets just be happy from now on.
Yes Nick, lets just be happy.

OTHER THOUGHTS
- Valerie texting Frances out of the blue to ask to meet is weird. It’s as if she’s playing both sides for Melissa – to try and get informations.
- Really proud of Frances for sending in her short story to Valerie even though I still don’t trust Valerie
