Legacies‘ penultimate episode of the series is here with 4×19, “This Can Only End in Blood.” That line sounds like something Ken will say to enhance his menacing threats, but the sting may not stick since Kaleb is back with the Super Squad in the photos below.
Kaleb’s reappearance with the living members of the Super Squad could have something to do with a psychic connection he may share with Cleo, as Enzo shared with Bonnie. However, Cleo is not pictured in the group shot. So, there’s a good chance Kaleb is one of the “unexpected visitors” Landon receives in limbo.
Maybe Landon bends the rules to send Kaleb back to help his friends and live a longer life. But, before that happens (and maybe after), Cleo is set on revenge. Cleo Sowande is stronger than Ken can anticipate, and she will prove that. There’s no doubt there.
Also, it appears as though the Salvatore School will mourn their friend. The memorial, presumably inside the boarding school, features plenty of candles and photographs.
However, this memorial could come at the end of the episode — after Kaleb reunites with his found family. The photo of Ric looking pensive with his crossbow close by could mean he’s preparing to take an active (and potentially deadly) role in the fight against Ken.
Since it seems like “This Can Only End in Blood” will feature most (if not all) of the fight, it would be in tune with the rest of The Vampire Diaries Universe for Legacies‘ penultimate episode to end with a deadly, emotionally intense cliffhanger.
So, digging into the details further, Hope’s charred bomber jacket likely means she reunites with her friends after her one-on-one fight with Ken. Despite the saddening optics of this battle and Landon receiving multiple unexpected visitors, there’s something optimistic in Hope aligning herself with her friends — instead of taking on the entire fight on her own.
The Super Squad have always said they’re stronger together, and “This Can Only End in Blood” is their opportunity to prove that to a literal god.
