Outlander said goodbye to Season 6 recently, and we’re already starting to hear about Season 7! The latest news is the signing of Izzy Meikle-Small and Joey Phillips to play two characters well known to fans of Diana Gabaldon’s books: Rachel and Denzel Hunter. Ready?
Here we go!
Yeah, Starz is pleased to announce the casting of Izzy Meikle-Small (Never Let Me Go) as “Rachel Hunter” and Joey Phillips (Billy Elliot) as “Dr. Denzell Hunter” in the upcoming seventh season of its popular series Outlander.
They join the previously announced Charles Vandervaart as the newest cast member, alongside returning fan-favorites Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, and John Bell.
The season six finale of Outlander aired May 1 on STARZ and production on season seven began in Scotland in April. Fans of the book series will be familiar with the two new characters, who are brother and sister.

Rachel and Denzell are Quakers whose quiet country life is changed when Young Ian (Bell) arrives at their farm with a sick and injured William Ransom (Vandervaart).
Dr. Denzell Hunter has been trained in medicine in Boston and London. As a firm believer in liberty, he is preparing to join the Revolutionary Army as a surgeon. His younger sister Rachel is modest but shows flashes of a fiery spirit that attracts the admiration of both William and Young Ian.

“We’re excited to welcome Izzy and Joey to the Outlander family and can’t wait for fans to see how these two fantastic actors bring Rachel and Denzell to life,” says Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Outlander season 7 is now in production and season 6 is available to watch on Starz.
