Netflix’s big action movie of the summer The Gray Man is fast approaching, and now viewers have a new teaser to enjoy!
This film reunites directors Anthony and Joe Russo with actor Chris Evans. Evans plays Lloyd Hansen, the antagonist to Ryan Gosling‘s ex-CIA operative. As Court Gentry, a.k.a Sierra Six, Gosling accidentally gains information the agency wants to keep secret. His psychotic former colleague, Hansen, is out to take him down.
Now, we saw most of the footage here in the official trailer Netflix released in May. This includes jolting car crashes, violent punches, and an impressive plane crash. BUT audiences do get some new snippets.
Gosling’s skilled spy is the focus of the new teaser, and it works. Quick, strongly-choreographed action shots show what The Gray Man is capable of doing. But we also learn a little bit more about the plot. Gentry’s mentor Donald Fitzroy, played by Billy Bob Thornton, and his daughter are taken captive. Probably the best new moment is Fitzroy’s response when his daughter asks if Gentry is coming for them: “If he can walk, it’ll be through those doors,” he says. This kind of statement makes you take notice. If someone can say something like this about a character, it draws you in. It makes you want to see more of that character. It’s a good contrast to Evans gleefully being evil.
This teaser did exactly what it was supposed to — make you want to watch the film.
The Gray Man also stars Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Rege-Jean Page, and Alfre Woodard. Check it out the teaser here:
