Netflix and Shondaland announced today through a video that Bridgerton is back in production for Season 3 with new cast members Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips and James Phoon joining the cast! If you want to know more, keep reading!
Here we go!
Nicola is so pretty! Luke is as hot as ever (although his new look still doesn’t convince me too much) but Nicola, wow! Also, it looks like he hasn’t been made to lose weight for the role, which is a change I love. I was worried that they would do something stupid with this but, once again, Bridgerton didn’t disappoint.
Like you know, this season will focus on the love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and here’s the official synopsis.
Bridgerton is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.

Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season.
But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.
This synopsis leaves us with many questions. Why would Penelope want to find a husband? Perhaps her mother became too insufferable. Also, we love that Penelope gives Colin a taste of his own medicine, he has to earn his way back to her and I hope Penelope makes him suffer for that to happen.
As expected, the plot changed from the book but I like this new twist of Colin wanting to win a place in Penelope’s life again and him falling into his own game. And let’s face it, I’m ready for Penelope killing it and driving all the men crazy while Colin can’t stand his jealousy.
On the other hand, who will be Eloise’s new friend? I hope it’s not Cressida because if it is, Eloise would have sunk too low for me. And we’ll see Penelope having trouble keeping her secret… yeah, I’m ready!
Bridgerton features new talent for this season.
- Daniel Francis plays Marcus Anderson: A charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters, attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the ton — and the ire of others.

- Sam Phillips plays Lord Debling: A genial lord with unusual interests. But with wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities, he’ll have no shortage of interest from young ladies this season.

- James Phoon plays Harry Dankworth: What Dankworth lacks in wit and intelligence, he more than makes up for with serious good looks.

Which of the three will be the one who is interested in Penelope? Or will it be all three? A girl can dream…
Bridgerton Season 3 is coming to Netflix soon and Season 2 is available to watch on Netflix.
