Giving Baby Groot and BB-8 a run for their money in pure adorableness, Netflix is bringing Lost Ollie to life on August 24. And honestly, after this trailer, we just want Ollie to find his way home, to be okay, and we possibly want an Ollie of our own to have adventures with.
This is how they get you, isn’t it?
Either way, I’ll buy merch, Netflix. In case you’re looking for other ways to monetize.
Lost Ollie is only a limited series, which sounds both good and bad. On the one hand, it’ll be a complete story. On the other hand, what if we fall in love with it and just want more? It happens!
Here’s the logline for the limited series, which we will surely be watching either way:
Lost Ollie is an epic adventure about a lost toy who braves the many dangers of childhood as he searches the countryside to reunite with the boy who lost him; and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend. It’s a heartwarming tale for the child in us all, remembering those special souls that we’ve lost but who forever changed our lives. The four-part limited series was inspired by the book Ollie’s Odyssey by renowned author and illustrator William Joyce.
And here’s the trailer:
When Ollie, a stuffed toy, awakens to discover himself in an unfamiliar place, he embarks on an epic journey to find his best friend Billy. Featuring the voices of Jonathan Groff, Tim Blake Nelson, and Mary J. Blige And starring Jake Johnson, Gina Rodriguez, and Kesler Talbot. Lost Ollie comes to Netflix August 24th, 2022.
