We love it when a good book gets optioned and goes into production. We love to see a book we loved come to life.
A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow came out in 2019 and tells the story of Lila Reyes. She looses her Grandma and decides to leave Miami for the summer to head to Winchester to cook at her aunts inn for the summer. She loved England, the countryside, and the inn. She also falls for a tea shop clerk, (yay romance), and finds a way to heal her heart.
Cast in the movie are stars Maia Reficco (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Kit Connor (Heartstopper) and Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur).
Matt Kaplan will produce for ACE Entertainment, which is a big deal, because you know that the movie is going to be good then. How? ACE Entertainment is behind all of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before movies, as well as the feature Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between, the upcoming The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, and just wrapped on Loveboat, Taipei. Basics – they know how to adapt YA Books and make them amazing.
If you haven’t read A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, we suggest you do. It’s quite good. The New York Times bestselling novel by Laura Taylor Namey, is very touching and heartfelt.
If you have read it, let us know if you’re excited for the adaptation.
