We’re no strangers to fan campaigns around here because we’re no strangers to fandom and fandom is about showing love — which sometimes translates to fighting against what you perceive as an injustice. Whether that be a show cancellation (we’ve got some that we’re still mad about, and we will forever be mad about), a ship crashing and burning (PAIN), or a character leaving, the best thing about fandom is that you are never alone in your feelings. You are never alone in your fight.
Now, Chicago P.D. fans are fighting to bring back Jesse Lee Soffer’s character, Jay Halstead. And they’re doing it in an organized fashion. Now, we’re not saying this is going to work …most fans’ campaigns don’t. But we’ve been witness to some that have (hello Timeless!) and we believe that the worst thing that can come out of this moment, of this movement is …well, fans showing love to a character and an actor.
So, basically, a good thing. Because when you love something, you should say it out loud.
