Episode 1×06 of Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt is where things really start to heat up. The mystery surrounding Sarah Miller has only got hotter. While we have no idea what it is she’s getting up to or what she got up to, we do know is, it’s a vital piece in the puzzle of this story.
The final moment of this episode is pure genius because we see Brayden confront Sarah after she’s done the deed with Kaleesha’s husband (something we could see happening a mile off). How Brayden asks her what the hell she’s been up to is exactly what we want to know as viewers but also while we know we definitely won’t get straight up answers next episode. It does lead us to suspect we will get something, and that Brayden is not as blind to the fact his wife is up to something.
This episode really is a show of affairs form Sarah and Kaleesha’s husband to Jax and Damon. It finally happened! Damon and Jax is something we knew was coming but their relationship dynamic through this episode really exacerbated something all people experience while dating, which is everyone has difference desires. Jax wants the danger and hot sex Damon offers her but she doesn’t want the commitment.
His past just doesn’t fit in with her life.
There are sweet moments such as when Damon says he can’t buy her expensive things but can look after her in other ways. Everything ultimately comes down to Jax figuring out what she wants and it seems even six episodes in Jax still doesn’t know.
I don’t think I’ve watched a show where the music is so perfectly synced with the show. Right down to the lyrics, the music really moves the plot further along and emphasises what we’re seeing on screen which is exactly what it’s supposed to do.
We get a handful of new suspects for Kaleesha’s murder in this episode including Kaleesha’s husband, Sarah and Theo. Theo has seemed sketchy from the start but from trying to sell off Brayden’s company behind his back. His excuse? Kaleesha was stealing from Brayden’s company.
It just seems a bit too coincidental.
Also, Theo saying to Brayden that he fell for Kaleesha for “a blow job and some coco butter” doesn’t sit right with me. Way beyond the diss, but if he dislikes Kaleesha so deeply, he could have killed her. We all know about crimes of passion, after all.

OTHER THOUGHTS
- The investigator, Daniel not understanding what “been had” shows how the writers of the show place colloquialism specific to the Black community but also take note for a wider conversation
- There is something deeper going on between Shanelle Tucker and her husband Jamarion. The way she jumps away from him suggests an abusive relationship dynamic.
