Chicago P.D. 10×08 “Under the Skin” seems to be Kim Burgess’ turn at emotions because in this show characters are very good about not feeling things when it’s someone else’s episode! You always feel things on your own time, and only then. There’s a switch for emotions you can turn on and off, apparently. Someone, please tell us how to access it.
And truly, it’s been a while since Kim has been allowed any emotions about her own trauma — outside of Makayla and Adam and the family they’ve started together. It’s almost like those emotions are only okay when it’s convenient for the plot or something. Which leads us to this hour. And what will surely be Marina Squerciati blowing us away, because she is that good. Not that the stuff she’s getting to do will make sense, but she’ll convince us anyway.

In an attempt to distract Intelligence from the investigation into his son, Chief O’Neal forces Voight and the team to handle a “dead fish case.” However, when that dead fish turns into a complicated heater case, Burgess is thrown back into difficult memories from her past.
