Disclaimer; Interviews scare me. If we’re being honest, I get hives before I have to do an interview. But every January I sit down and I write a list of people that I want to try to interview during the year. This year, I wrote four people down – Tyler Hynes, Paul Campbell, and Andrew Walker all on that list. The fourth was Kal Penn (got the email to interview him 2 days after this,
And I had gotten to the point where I had resigned that would never happen. But on a Wednesday night, I got an email from Hallmark asking if we wanted to participate in their Countdown to Christmas interviews.
And right there were the names that I had written. I responded really quickly.
I couldn’t go into the hotel for the in person interviews – I’d had to undergo some medical treatments that AM, and being around people wasn’t healthy for me. I had been in so much pain from the procedures that I was on some pretty strong pain killers. So fuck it.
So yes, you’re going I considered editing it down, but I said, well, the thing is – my fangirl flag flew. I decided that my inhibitions were gone, I babbled like no other, and I was happy. So I didn’t edit down this interview, I just decided to let the rawness, the babbling, and the embarrassment fly free. Because this is your reminder – dreams do come true.
But lets talk about the movie…
Three Wise Men and A Baby is one of the most anticipated movies of the Countdown To Christmas season. Starring what we would dub the hunks of Hallmark – Tyler Hynes, Paul Campbell, and Andrew Walker – the movie sounded a lot like an older move – Three Men And A Baby, which is definitely a classic.
And saying that it sounded like it is in now, well, may be sounding like I am calling these three old. but I am not. But they will one day be classics.
When you sit down to talk to these three, you can tell that they’ve been asked the same question a lot, but they made the most of it. The truth is – what I learned is that the magic of these three is that they love what they do, but they love the people behind the scenes a lot more. They appreciate everything that is done for them.
And the people that work with them to make everything successful.
We talk to the three of them about the movie, their characters, Tyler”s bulging thighs, nature and leaves, the appreciation for people behind the scenes, elf costumes and who won our baby poll.
In Three Wise Men And A Baby, “Luke Brenner (Walker) is Mr. Perfect – an all-star firefighter and poster boy for physical health and clean living. But when he finds a baby on the doorstep of the firehall with a note asking him to care for it until Christmas, he’s uncharacteristically at a loss. Unfortunately, his mom Barbara (Colin) has to go out of town to attend to her sister’s medical emergency leaving Luke with no other choice but to rely on his brothers for help until she returns – Taylor (Hynes), an opinionated video game designer who recently lost his job, and Stephan (Campbell), a pet therapist with severe social anxiety. It’s one mishap after another as the brothers take turns trying to care for the baby individually, and they soon discover the only way to survive the week is to work together as a team – something they haven’t done since they were children. As they slowly get the hang of things, they find themselves on unexpected journeys of self-discovery and begin to rebuild their relationships as brothers, as well as repair damaged romantic and professional relationships in their respective lives…all while rediscovering their love of Christmas.”
