As we told you a few days ago, Leverage: Redemption is back! After the first four episodes aired, it’s time to take a look at everything we got to see from this season and how the team adjusts to a new stage in their lives. Ready?
Here we go!
Promising Second Dates in Leverage: Redemption 2×04 “The Date Night Job”

Breanna has a promising second date with Emily in Leverage: Redemption 2×04 “The Date Night Job.” At first, it seemed like everything had gone south because Breanna had to leave mid-date and lie to Emily about her reason for doing so. Being on the team and having a stable love life outside of it is not easy.
But Emily just needed to know why Breanna left. Not exactly the truth, not yet, Emily just wanted to know that Breanna hadn’t left for lack of interest. Knowing that she left because someone Breanna loved was in danger and she wanted to help was enough to know everything she needed to know about her. Emily found that Breanna is a person who gives everything for the people she loves. She is a good person.
That’s enough for Emily, for now, so she doesn’t need to know exactly who Breanna is helping and how in Leverage: Redemption 2×04 “The Date Night Job,” so all in all it was a pretty good second date. If what is between them continues, Breanna will have to tell Emily the whole truth at some point, which will be a litmus test for both of them.
But you have to walk before you run, and this was a really good second date. I’m glad to see Breanna much more mature and open up a bit more both to the team and to exploring life outside of the computer. We talk about character growth here and we are very proud of her.
The Past Knocks Twice

In this batch of Leverage: Redemption episodes, Sophie’s past comes back with a vengeance. She comes face to face with her past in the middle of a job and it leaves her thrown.
Sophie is uneasy, not only because of what it means to her but also because of the danger it could pose to the team. She failed this man big time, he was collateral damage and now he wants Sophie to pay for the situation she put him in.
We don’t know much about Sophie’s past, but we do know that everyone on the team put their past behind them and decided not to talk about it. We believe that everyone was in some way the same in their past. They did a job and put the collateral damage behind them, moving on to something else. When they teamed up that changed and for the first time, they stayed in one place and cared about someone other than themselves.
After years, in Leverage: Redemption, everyone changed and would be unable to just finish the job and disappear. But when the past they left behind comes back to bite them in the ass, it makes them question who they were then and the mistakes they made. That’s just how Sophie is feeling right now.
The whole team left their past behind and it seems that the time has come for them to face it. And the first to have to do it is Sophie… but we don’t think she’ll be the last. We can’t wait!
Action-Packed Date Nights in Leverage: Redemption 2×04 “The Date Night Job”

In Leverage: Redemption 2×04 “The Date Night Job” Parker and Hardison have a rather eventful date. Deep down, apart from being together, Parker wants to convince Hardison to return to the team, with her. Parker wants to protect him because when he’s away, she worries that she won’t be there if he needs her. But apart from that, she also misses him.
And while Parker has a point here, Hardison also has a point in not wanting to give up a job he loves. That would not be good for the couple they form because, in the end, it would end up tearing them apart. They love each other and that is the most important thing.
In the end, Parker understands Hardison’s point, and as she tells Mason – a kid she sees herself in – it’s not so much the quantity as the quality of time we spend with the people we love. And she and Hardison spend quality time together. He’s right, they will survive this because they don’t need to be in the same place to feel like they are together. We love them very much, we swear.
Other Stuff in Leverage: Redemption

- Dealing with E-Sports was a success for the show. I’m not particularly familiar with it but I liked seeing it on the series.
- Elliot Spencer’s fights. Wow!
- I love that Sophie’s clothes are so much more cheerful, reflecting the emotional state of the character. Nate will always be in her memories and her heart, but she’s over her grief.
- Harry is back! And he doesn’t have a nickname anymore, so he’s a full member of the team.
- I love that Parker and Hardison want to make plans to surprise each other.
