Not that we like that anyone has negative memories that stick with them forever, but we do understand that it happens. Hell, we understand it because we live it. We’re eaten up by our memories sometimes, no matter how much therapy we have.
Sometimes we get a chance to face the people that gave us those memories and sometimes we don’t. They may not ever remember it the way that you do (we’ve learned from personal experience). We have learned from experience that there are always three sides to every story – yours, mine, and the truth.
Now, we’d forgotten that Adam Scott was ever on Boy Meets World and for that grave oversight, we are sorry. It’s listening to Pod Meets World, that we were reminded. Sorry Adam!
Adam talked about a moment that continued to live with him, even now, after starring on the show.
“Literally, this has been tugging at me for 29 years,” Adam told Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Danielle Fishel‘s on Pod Meets World. He remembered that he was backstage watching the Season 2 finale being filmed alongside Blake Soper and Ethan Suplee (and don’t feel ashamed if you had to look up who they were, so did we). “I was with Blake and Ethan. Rider, you were there with a different group of people but we were all gathering around knowing the last scene was about to finish.”
When the show ended filming, the three went out to where the rest of the cast was and everyone was congratulating each other, celebrating the ending. He and others were celebrating, and Scott continued by saying, “Blake and Ethan go up to you, Rider, and give you a high five and hug you and after they do that I’m like, hey, congratulations, buddy, and give you a high five and go in and hug you.”
And then according to Scott’s recollection, when he tried to do the same Rider, “pushed me off and you give me this look like, ‘Wait a second, who the f**k are you?’ and then you ran away. I remember just being like, oh no no no no! I’m sorry! What just happened? No no no.”
Rider doesn’t recall the incident, but we’re glad he had the chance to talk to Rider about it. Rider, Danielle, and Will all looked shocked over Adam’s memory. What we didn’t like is that later on in the podcast, when it came up later Adam felt said, “It could also have been kind of built up and overdramatized over these last 29 years, who knows? But I can see it, I remember it so vividly, it’s just so crazy.”
If your feelings are your feelings, you’re allowed to remember things the way you did. The fact that Adam felt the need to track back on how he felt, isn’t okay with me.
