Rarely is a show rescued from cancellation, but it’s happening now! Uncoupled will have a second chance on Showtime to be able to answer the questions that were left open in its only season on Netflix. If you want to know more, keep reading!
Here we go!
Uncoupled is saved! According to Deadline, Showtime is picking up season 2 and there’s potential for more. Contrary to what happened with other shows, this move is not so much a fan campaign as a strategic move by Showtime.
Long story short, Showtime is going to focus its programming on three pillars of content. One of them is Complex Characters, intended to be the home of subversive anti-heroes. The second pillar is Powerful Worlds, a place for thrillers full of action and danger. The last pillar, called Metro-Cultures, is where Showtime intends to place Uncoupled because it will span culturally diverse takes.
But, beyond content strategies, we are happy that Uncoupled is going to have a second chance. We can’t wait to see Michael’s response to Colin!
And the good news just keeps going! On Showtime, Uncoupled will be more provocative and risqué than the season we saw on Netflix. So we are going to have a lot of spice in this new season. The show will be joined by another LGBTQ+-themed series, Fellow Travelers. We’re excited about everything that awaits us! What about you?
