The Past is Part of Our Present in The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again”

The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again” case of the week has clear parallels with Cutty and Simone’s past. History repeated itself with Natasha and her son. She was accused and jailed for a crime she didn’t commit, just like Cutty, and the little boy had to grow up too quickly while he took in what was happening, just like Simone.
That makes Cutty and Simone revisit those bitter memories and experiences. They somehow kept going, because they had to. Cutty had a daughter, and a family to care for — especially when his wife died — and he couldn’t let all the legitimate anger, mistrust, and rancor he felt take control. He had to move on without letting what happened to destroy him.
But inevitably, what happened changed him. So, as Cutty mentions in The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again,” he redirected all those feelings to become a community leader and help those in need. In helping people like Natasha.
In Simone’s case, she too had to move on without her father and mature at such a scarily young age. And we see it clearly in The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again” when she comforts the little one. The way she talks to him…she understands what that kid is going through because she was in his shoes. And Simone learned that the system is rotten…and that only someone like her can improve it from within.
The past is part of who we are and The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again” is living proof of that. Luckily, Natasha and her little one found people like Simone and Cutty, who were able to help them start over. It’s a gift that Cutty and Simone didn’t have.
Other Stuff in The Rookie: Feds 1×15 “Dead Again”

- It doesn’t seem fair to Carter that his ex-wife wants to go for full custody and take the children away from his father. The couple’s marriage ended up being a disaster, but that has nothing to do with what Carter is like as a father. He is a good father and a good man, he loves his children with everything he has. So he doesn’t deserve to be separated from his children.
- I like the way Fortune and Carter are getting closer and building a stronger relationship.
- Brendon was a jerk and Laura had to make him see the light…but he apologized so we forgive him for all he said. LMAO.
- Brendon speaking French is HOT!
- Antoinette and Brendon are super cute.
- I cried while Simone read that letter.
The Rookie: Feds season 1 airs Tuesdays at 9/10 on ABC.
