A week later, we are back! Even though we are only in January, in The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact” it seems that spring has arrived because love is in the air and the lines between relationships and work blur with very different results. Ready?
Here we go!
The Risk Is Worth It in The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact”

The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact” recovers the coherence that the previous episode lost regarding Antoinette, Brendon, and Carter. Apparently, she and Carter are just good friends. Points to the show for misleading us, we suppose – though that makes us understand even less why they wasted time showing Carter and Antoinette together.
The fact is that Brendon is encouraged to learn that there is nothing between Antoinette and Carter, thinking that he didn’t imagine what was being born between them. And he didn’t. Antoinette shows her interest in Brendon, but with these two they are one step forward and two back.
When it seemed that Antoinette and Brendon were making progress in The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact,” Brendon’s past serves as a mockery on the internet and that throws Antoinette off. She is a very private woman who wants to stay in the background and the internet reminded her that Brendon lives in a very different world. He was famous, people recognize him, and that world is synonymous with exposure.
Brendon may have put his past as an actor behind him, but his fame… that’s another story. So Antoinette decides to take a step back. As if that were not enough, Garza realizes what is happening and is forced to warn Brendon about the consequences of having a relationship with someone from work. It can be magical, but if it ends, it can be hell. The question is: is it worth the risk?
Brendon seems to think so because he doesn’t hesitate to talk to Antoinette about what’s going on. He thinks that she is ashamed of his past but Antoinette’s problem is not that. It’s the exposure. Yet as much as she tries, as much as her head tells her that she should get away, Antoinette can’t help but feel that she will regret it if she doesn’t give Brendon a chance.
So she does…and we love them! Although we need to know why Antoinette is such a reserved woman. We think there’s something more to it than what she’s told, Brendon. Will we be right?
Letting Go Doesn’t Always Go Well

Simone tries to be professional and fails miserably in The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact.” Her history with Damian still carries too much weight in her life. She never got proper closure and when her job is to protect him… well, it’s the perfect recipe for disaster.
As much as Carter tried to make Simone see that she had to be professional and put her personal history with Damian aside, she tried — though not too hard — and failed. She just couldn’t help but get carried away by that flame that Damian ignites in her, even though she knew she shouldn’t.
But this is a problem. Carter protected her but if the others had found out what happened, Simone could have lost her career and her job. This makes Simone realize the gravity of what she did and that she had to focus on what’s best for her right now…and that’s not Damian.
For that reason, Simone rejects him when he proposes to get back together and make it work in The Rookie: Feds 1×11 “Close Contact.” This is her moment. She’s waited a long time to be an FBI agent and it’s time to put her needs, her dreams, first, not push them aside so that her relationship with Damian works and his career advances.
Simone always prioritized others over herself and now she’s prioritized herself, knowing what was at stake for getting carried away with Damian, and we’re proud of her for that. Plus, Simone got the closure she needed with Damian so it all worked out.
The Rookie: Feds season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10/11 on ABC.
