If you aren’t familiar with Bob Ross, you’re missing out on some good public access television. We can remember watching the show and thinking, wow, no one can paint a mountain or a tree like Bob Ross can.
Not to mention that really calm voice that just made us feel like we could fall asleep easily. Hey, what can we say, some voices are calming.
Bob Ross was an icon of his time. Paint is not about Bob Ross, but hey, it definitely looks as though Owen Wilson is channeling Bob Ross as he plays Carl Nargle, Vermont’s #1 public television painter. Carl is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke… until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
The movie is written and directed by Brit McAdams, who is making his feature film directorial debut. Starring alongside Owen Wilson in the movie is Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ciara Reneé.
