The Little Mermaid is our whole personality and we’re definitely okay with that. We grew up loving the animated classic, but we are more excited for the live action movie. We can’t wait to see it and will be there right when it open.
Halle Bailey has been making the press rounds and we’ve definitely been loving everything that we’ve been learning about the movie. Halle spoke with The Wrap about her time learning how to swim with a mermaid’s tail.
The actress was taking lessons from synchronized swimmers and a professional mermaid, so she could learn to move the way that Ariel would.
“I remember before going to London, I actually had this beautiful training session with these amazing synchronized swimmers that would come to my house every Sunday,” she said.
She learned to swim with a mermaids tail but said when she got to, “set, there was a lot of it on blue screen where I did not have to wear the tail [so] the stunt team just kind of pasted my two legs together [and] in post[-production] they put the tail on.”
The only thing that we have to say is kudos to her for learning and putting her heart and soul into it. We love her so much and can’t wait to see her in The Little Mermaid this week!
