We can’t be the only ones that play this game with ourselves – is it aging or the pandemic that made us have a new appreciation for home improvement and cooking shows? We’re going with the pandemic, because no matter how much older we get, we are forever young with experience.
We said what we said.
One show that we loved during the pandemic was that Selena Gomez one. You know the one we’re talking about, Selena + Chef. We felt seen as we navigated the mess of learning to cook for ourselves. Before you pass judgement, we blame Postmates for that.
But here we are, 2024, and the pandemic is over (according to the government, not us) and Selena is able to head out of her kitchen and into other ones. She’s also cemented herself as a cooking show host people will watch.
So we’re definitely excited that there is more to come from Selena. The superstar (side note: It doesn’t feel like superstar describes just how great she is) has two new cooking shows coming. She’s joined The Food Network for these shows.
The first is a “celebration-focused series just in time for the holidays,” which will launch later this year. Something to look forward to for 2023. We’re definitely hoping that it’s her cooking Thanksgiving dinner, cause that would be a lot of fun.
The second will come in 2024 and will be focused on Selena visiting some of the worlds most renowned chefs cooking their signature meals in their kitchens.
“The holidays are always huge for Food Network, reaching nearly 60M P2+ viewers, and having Selena kicking off the nearly 100 hours of new and returning holiday programming will certainly make this coming season one to celebrate,” said Kathleen Finch, Warner Bros. Discovery Chairman and Chief Content Officer US Networks.
And you know, we agree Katie. We can’t wait to see Selena cooking more. What about you?
