This doesn’t shock us and if you are shocked, we don’t know what to say. Hollywood is in the business of making money (and apparently paying it to their execs vs. the people who actually do all the work – had to put that in there) and with the success of the Hocus Pocus sequel we were sure that a third one wasn’t far off.
And what do you know, we weren’t wrong.
Sean Bailey, the President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, confirmed the news of a sequel in an interview with the New York Times.
He simply stated, “Yes, Hocus Pocus 3 is happening.”
Well that’s enough for a fandom to get really excited.
The movie series stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. The second installment of the franchise aired on Disney+ and garnered over 2.7 billion minutes of viewing.
It became the most viewed original movie for Disney+ over the frame of the first three days of it’s release. That’s an accomplishment and one that told us that a third installment wouldn’t be that far off.
