If you’re like us, listening to Taylor’s albums that aren’t her version, it feels like a betrayal. It feels like we’re not listening to the right version. It feels like we’re betraying Taylor.
And so every time she announces a new version – her version – we get happy. We get happy because we know we’re getting Taylor’s version, but we’re also getting things from the vault and that makes us very excited.
With Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) we are getting six new tracks from the vault and that makes us very happy. Taylor announced this today when she debuted the back cover of the upcoming album.
“I’m VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with Hayley Williams from @Paramore and @FallOutBoy,” Taylor wrote.
“Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can’t wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th.” she continued.
