ATX TV Festival gave us the chance to speak with the show’s star, Emeraude Toubia about Lily’s emotional journey and her relationships with Nick and Santiago. In addition, we discussed with her the diversity and inclusion that are a hallmark of the show. Ready?

Nick & Lily’s Future is Bright at With Love
After the end of With Love season 2, we had to ask Emeraude Toubia her opinion on Nick and Lily’s relationship and if friends to lovers was a good definition for them. Even though Nick and Lily are OTP forever, there is no denying that Santiago was an important part of Lily’s life, and ending up like this…doesn’t seem like a fair ending for them. We discussed this with Emeraude Toubia and she shared her impressions of what Santiago means to Lily and whether it’s fair the way With Love season 2 decided to end them.
Because Santiago and Lily had such an unhealthy relationship, Lily’s journey in With Love was about discovering that she deserves a love that puts her first. Emeraude Toubia shared with us what it meant for her to live from within this emotional journey and growth of Lily.
Diversity and Inclusion as Pillars of With Love
Going deeper into the interview, With Love is a show that moves away from stereotypes and Emeraude Toubia discusses how this is important and how it’s necessary for the representation we see on our TV to be authentic and not feed prejudice and stereotypes that do more damage to the community.
Diversity and inclusion are hallmarks of With Love. For example, the series shows how Lily unconditionally supports Jorge and Henry. That matters.
We talk with Emeraude Toubia about this and she shares with us why seeing something like this on screen is important and whether or not she thinks With Love influences other shows to be more inclusive.
Following this line of thought, With Love shows that love is not only synonymous with romance. There are many types of love, such as family. The bond between Lily and Jorge is incredibly strong, which is why it hurt so much when they got into a fight in season 2. We asked Emeraude Toubia how she lived through that fight and what she thinks the schism between her and her brother meant to Lily.
