Wildcats, what time is it?!
It’s time for a High School Musical reunion as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series becomes more meta than ever before with its upcoming fourth season on Disney+.
While larger details about Season 4 are still under wraps, Disney+ has unveiled new photos that tease plenty of what awaits HSMTMTS fans. People exclusively reported the sneak peek earlier this month. It revealed Wildcats from the High School Musical movies, new characters to the series, and a familiar face from Camp Shallow Lake in Season 3.

Returning and New Wildcats
The HSMTMTS Season 4 photos tease the reunion that occurs at East High as the students stage a production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Per the season’s description, “Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie on location at their beloved high school.” That event reunites the Wildcats with Kaycee Stroh (HSM‘s Taylor McKessie) and Corbin Bleu (HSM‘s Chad Danforth), who appeared on HSMTMTS in Season 1 and Season 3, respectively.
Monique Coleman, who starred in the original trilogy as Taylor McKessie, will also guest star in Season 4 alongside Bart Johnson, who played Coach Jack Bolton, and Alyson Reed, who portrayed Ms. Darbus. The new season will also introduce Miss Jenn to HSM‘s Ryan Evans in real life after her dream in HSMTMTS Season 1 Episode 8, “The Tech Rehearsal,” as Lucas Grabeel is set to guest star, too.
The photos above give a glimpse at the production style of the reunion, suggesting that Disney may bring in new Wildcats to play a part in the show. HSMTMTS Season 4 welcomes four new cast members: Kylie Cantrall as Dani, Matthew Sato as Mack, Caitlin Reilly as Quinn, and Vasthy Mompoint as Krystal.

Familiar Faces Reunite at East High
One thing even the most casual HSMTMTS fan will notice is that the Wildcats are back at East High in Season 4.
Season 3’s Camp Shallow Lake provided a fun change of pace and scenery, but this return to HSM‘s roots favors the season’s meta efforts. That move back to Salt Lake City means more of Kate Reinders as Miss Jenn — and Liamani Segura as Emmy, whom HSMTMTS introduced last season. Segura returns to HSMTMTS as a series regular for Season 4.
Other HSMTMTS cast members set to return in recurring roles are Mark St. Cyr as Mr. Mazzara, Matt Cornett as EJ, Larry Saperstein as Big Red, Joe Serafini as Seb, Adrian Lyles as Jet, and Saylor Bell Curda as Maddox.

More of HSMTMTS‘ Tercet and a Seblos Duet
After a season of growing closer at Camp Shallow Lake, the HSMTMTS Season 4 photos tease the iconic tercet of Kourtney Greene, Ashlyn Caswell, and Gina Porter are ready to take on another show — together.
Also, one photo suggests that HSMTMTS fans will get something they’ve been waiting for — a Seblos duet. Seb sings “The Climb” to Carlos in HSMTMTS Season 2 Episode 5, “The Quinceañero,” and Carlos sings “In a Heartbeat” to Seb in HSMTMTS Season 2 Episode 10, “The Transformation.” Still, the couple have never performed a duet on the show.
The couple performs “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” with Jet and Maddox in HSMTMTS Season 3 Episode 7, “Camp Prom,” but they never have a one-on-one duet.
HSMTMTS Season 4 may (finally!) change that for the better!

It’s Rina’s Time to Shine
Ricky grew into the hat Gina made for him and gave him in HSMTMTS Season 1 Episode 7, “Thanksgiving.”
Releasing that sneak peek at Ricky is such a clever way to tease where he’s at in Season 4. That growth coinciding with Ricky and Gina finally finding their ways to each other — with that iconic first kiss in HSMTMTS Season 3 Episode 8, “Let It Go” — is good.
The other, even more Rina-centric photo captures the couple’s joy — with music and puppies as a bonus. Ricky’s acoustic guitar immediately draws visual parallels to Ricky singing “When There Was Me and You” to Gina in HSMTMTS Season 1 Episode 6, “What Team?” After all the complicated feelings and missed communication, it’s a safe bet that this scene in Season 4 will be a lot less angsty than that one.
After all, it’s Rina’s time to shine!

High School Musical 3: Senior Year Casting
The HSMTMTS Season 4 photos answer part of one of the season’s biggest questions — Who will be cast in which roles in High School Musical 3: Senior Year?
Based on context clues, Carlos will be Ryan Evans; Ashlyn won’t reprise Ms. Darbus and star as Kelsi Nielsen; Rick will get another chance to play Troy Bolton; Gina Porter will lead as Gabriella Montez; Kourtney will lean into her star power and shine as Sharpay Evans.
But there’s another relevant question: How many original props will this production use? With original HSM cast members returning and Miss Jenn tracking down the prop phone Vanessa Hudgens used as Gabriella in Season 1, what will Season 4 bring? Because some of the costumes and accessories in the photo above are identical to the movies.
From Gabriella’s necklace to Sharpay’s tie and everything between and beyond, there are tons of Easter eggs for High School Musical to spy in the photo. Hopefully, it isn’t long before HSMTMTS Season 4 premieres, and we can see the Wildcats’ production of HSM 3 — and the HSM reunion.
