We don’t always like to admit that James Gunn could have made a good decision, but sometimes the universe works in mysterious ways. It works in a way that tells you, you have to respect that process, because what could come from it is that you find that you’ve been missing something in your life.
It also slaps you in the face and tells you that you have no vision, because when you saw the actor before, you could have never envisioned him as Superman. Maybe it’s because you weren’t thinking of it. Maybe it’s because you aren’t the biggest DC comics fan or you know that DC has a habit of screwing everything up.
Maybe it’s because until a few weeks ago, you thought that Henry Cavill would always be “The Man of Steel.” Then again, nothing is really for always and forever.
But we all know that has changed and plucked from – well, never mind, he wasn’t plucked from obscurity, he’s actually been in a lot of things and was fabulous – we get David Corenswet as the new Superman.
We’re definitely not mad about it. After seeing him in The Politician we knew that we loved him and thought he was a great actor. Now that he’s Superman, everyone is going to want to get to know him.
We definitely are going to want to know more. So yes, we did our research and deep dived to try and find anything that we could about David Corenswet (even if this writer doesn’t normally go to DC But now I go here.)
WHERE’S HE FROM?
David Packard Corenswet sounds very British, but alas, he’s from the United States of America. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to be exact.
WHERE YOU MAY HAVE SEEN HIM
Well, the man is busy. He’s been in a lot of television and movies. We particularly loved We Own This City, The Politician, and Look Both Ways. And while we may have missed something here, what can we say, life happens.
- Elementary
- Affairs of State
- House of Cards
- The Sunlit Night
- The Politician
- Hollywood
- We Own This City
- Look Both Ways
- Twisters (UPCOMING)
- Superman: Legacy (UPCOMING)
- The Greatest Hits (UPCOMING)
- Lady in the Lake (UPCOMING)
EXAMINING HIS SOCIAL MEDIA
Corenswet is not super active on social media, but we respect that. Hell, we sometimes wish we weren’t.
He hasn’t posted on Twitter since 2020. Smart to run away from that app.
His Instagram only has 38 posts, but that’s okay because they are all cute. We love a well thought out meaningful posts. Just look at the one below –
Ovaries exploding. Yes, we said what we said.
RELATIONSHIP STATUS
We have no idea and TBH, if he’s in a relationship, good for him. If he’s not… good for us. Either way the man seems focused on his career, and hey, we’re appreciative of that. Because obviously, we can’t wait to see him suited up.
This being said, we’d call his relationship status, “currently in every woman’s dreams.”
HOW TALL IS HE?
6′ 4″ (1.93 m) to be exact, according to IMDB. All we can think is damn, he’s tall. Look, normally we give no fucks about how tall someone is, but since everyone seems to be asking on Twitter, we looked it up.
Also we’re not relating height to anything, so get your minds out of the gutter.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR HIM?
Dude is busy, and we stan that. We’re probably going to have to stop talking shit about the Twister remake/sequel/potential hot mess, because he’s in it (though, bear in mind, we’ll probably keep talking and eat our words later).
He’s also done a futuristic Shakespeare in Operation Othello, obviously based off Othello. Think that’s great but also, won’t watch because Shakespeare is my nemesis.
Lady in the Lake is an adaptation that is set to premiere on Apple TV+.
