Dune‘s success is indisputable! So much so that a series prequel is in the works on Max. Dune: The Sisterhood (title subject to possible changes) is based on the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson and promises to be one of the hits of the renewed streaming service. We already know the first names that join the project and they are awesome! Ready?
Here we go!
Thanks to Variety, we found out that Olivia Williams and Jodhi May have been cast in Max‘s Dune: The Sisterhood. These signings come after Shirley Henderson and Indira Varma left the project after being announced.
Henderson’s departure occurred in February and was due to “creative changes”, while Varma’s departure was due to scheduling conflicts. Although theirs were not the only exits that the series suffered. Johan Renk, who had signed on as director, left the project and Anna Foerster is in charge of replacing him.
In Dune: The Sisterhood Williams will play Tula Harkonnen, while May plays Natalya. Set in the world of Dune 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the series follows the Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
