As Emily in Paris rolls around, we love hearing about other projects from its stars! Samuel Arnold joins several young talents to participate in a spin-off of the movie Great Expectations. Ready?
Here we go!
According to Deadline, Arnold joins Callan McAuliffe, Blu Hunt, and Annie Q. Riegel to star in the contemporary spin-off of the Charles Dickens classic Great Expectations. The person in charge of the film is the model Rina Lipa, sister of the singer Dua Lipa, and is currently in post-production.
The spin-off movie also features Colin Ferguson, Chris Gray, Nadia Alexander, and Jenna Leigh Green and will follow the Great Expectations character Pip (McAuliffe) later in life. When he receives a mysterious invitation to a weekend retreat from his childhood benefactor, Miss Havisham, he thinks his bad luck is about to turn. Only Miss Havisham never shows up.
Instead, Pip meets his first love, the beautiful but emotionally cold Estella (Blu Hunt). He also meets Avery Harper, a chef with an agenda (Annie Q. Riegel), Bernard Nasby, a hedge fund manager with a chip on his shoulder (Samuel Arnold), and a host of other characters who have been invited to play the Havisham succession game and solve a riddle that could unlock the inheritance of his fortune.
The weekend takes an unexpected turn when one of the guests ends up dead and everyone present becomes a suspect in true Agatha Christie style.
Great Expectations spin-off is written and directed by Chris Robert Riegel. The producers are Dave Hansen, Clay Pecorin, Andrew Panay, and Jared Iacino. Filming took place in Canada. As for the timing of the premiere, the team is targeting a festival later this year.
