Well, well… we definitely know that Taylor Swift can and will always surprise her fans, but we have to admit that we never saw this one coming. But hey, Taylor Swift doesn’t ask you what you need… she just knows.
She’s good like that.
With the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), we knew that we’d be getting music from the vault and logically we should have thought of a music video. Don’t know why we didn’t think about it, but Taylor did.
And fans at her Kansas City stop of her Eras tour were treated to the premiere of the video for I Can See You (Taylor’s Version). And to make it even more exciting, the videos stars, Taylor Lautner, Joey King, and Presley Cash were all present.
Yes, you read that right, Taylor Lautner. No offense to Joey King or Presley Cash, we just are stuck on that surprise.
Now, we’re not the type that stays friends with an ex, but we admire those that can. So Swift and Lautner staying friends is something that we admire, but don’t get. However, we’re loving what Lautner had to say about her.
He said, “I just wanna say one thing. I respect you so much… For the human you are. You are gracious, humble .. you are kind.. I am honored to know you.”
Swift wrote and directed the music video, which features some pretty fantastic fight scenes. She posted on her Instagram some photos from the shoot and said, “WELL. SO. I’ve been counting down for months and finally the ‘I Can See You’ video is out. I wrote this video treatment over a year ago and really wanted to play out symbolically how it’s felt for me to have the fans helping me reclaim my music. I had my heart set on @joeyking, @taylorlautner and @helloimpresleycash starring in it.”
She continued, “Joey and Presley had been in the video for ‘Mean’ when they were 9 and 13 and they are back and so ridiculously bad ass!! Taytay is INCREDIBLE in this (didn’t have a stunt double!) and shout out to @taylautner for being so awesome to hang with on set. The Tale of 3 Taylors 😆 I always wanted to direct fight scenes/a heist storyline and had the most incredible time plotting this out with my amazing DP @selajon. So proud of this one.”
