Foundation Season 2 premieres this Friday, and in preparation for the new season Fangirlish had a chance to talk to Cassian Bilton, who plays Empire — well, one of them, Brother Dawn himself, about what it is to play the younger (more clothed) version of Lee Pace’s character. And though we might have joked about the fact that he gets to do more than Lee Pace (and wear more), the truth is, Empire works because three men make it work. We just have a soft spot for Brother Dawn, okay? Okay.
And, at the same time — does Empire even work? That’s the bigger question of Foundation. Not that Bilton can answer it as something other than the man playing one of the villain(s) of this epic sci-fi tale that, somehow, looks too close to reality for comfort.

The first episode of Foundation premieres Friday, July 14th. Episodes will then release on Apple TV+ every Friday after that, with Season 2 set to run for 10 episodes.
