This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, tv shows and movies being covered in Fangirlish Feels of the Week wouldn’t exist. We stand with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
We watch a lot of TV and movies! And we read a lot of books too, not to mention the time we spend on TikTok. In case all the reviews, interviews, news, and features didn’t give you a clue (wink, wink), we come together to highlight all those great moments that our favorite shows, movies, and books give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Rachel: When Jake gave Helen the Pablo Neruda poem to show his feelings for her in Happiness for Beginners, it gave me the swoons a little bit. It’s one of the best romantic moments in the film.
Shana: The end of Good Omens. It’s just not fair!
Lizzie: Absolutely every second of Heartstopper Season 2, but I think the montage at the beginning of the first episode above all things. I just want my children to be happy forever, okay? I don’t care about drama! Drama can stay away!
Erin: When Conrad and Belly are on the beach and she’s telling him that if she had known he went to Jeremiah, she would have fought for them. She wouldn’t have let it all go. The way that they spoke to each other and the way that they were both in so much pain, I broke. This season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is just so good!
Ashley T.: Spock singing “I’m the X” in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2×09 “Subspace Rhapsody.” Hooooooly moly…those bass notes.
WTF Moment of the Week

Rachel: The revelation at the end of the second episode of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart was a bit of a shocker.
Jasmine: Thursdays episode of General Hospital when Spencer’s cousin Kristina told him to go pick up his ex and her baby to take them to the park. Before this she overheard him talking to Josslyn about finding a way to see his current girlfriend Trina who’s father was shot and is now paralyzed.
She only did that to spite Joss because they don’t get along. It was stupid and Spencer should not be part of their petty drama. The second biggest WTF was that Spencer actually listened to Kristina and left to do that instead of going to see Trina.
Shana: I’d say it was folks like Stephen Amell and Zachary Levi being ignorant about their own union’s strike at conventions, but let’s be real: it’s all on brand. So, instead…let’s see…how about when Dusk asked Rue to come back to his private quarters for some tacky sex tape viewing in Foundation 2×04?
Erin: Stephen Amell. Anything that comes out of his mouth and that is offensive though… it all makes me wonder how he gets away with so much crap.
Ashley T.: I saw Talk to Me and good grief, that whole movie is WTF moment in the best way possible. Go see it. Had my jaw on the floor for 90% of the film.
Tik Tok That Made Me LOL

Ashley W.: Ryan Reynolds may have thought he could avoid becoming a “GIF factory,” but, as the comments suggest, he’s becoming exactly that. The way he’s hiding behind his jacket while trying snacks but with crisp and clear audio to accompany it really (and elevates the video to more than just one of humor but ASMR, too!
Lizzie: I’m not saying all the time, but sometimes, this tik tok is all of us, and whoever says this doesn’t apply is just a lying liar who lies.
Lyra: Even more proof that The Mummy‘s Rick O’Connell is the standard.
What We’re Reading This Week

Rachel: I’m late but I’ve jumped on the Emily Henry train. I’m reading Beach Read right now and I have a feeling I’m going to love it.
Jasmine: I’m currently finishing up Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan. That book is an emotional roller-coaster but so beautifully written. Anything Kennedy writes, I’m reading!
Lizzie: It’s never a bad week to re-read Pride and Prejudice, right?
Lyra: Does fanfiction count? I know I have books to read but maybe I just read Sterek fic or a little Royjamie from Ted Lasso.
What We Rewatched This Week

Rachel: I rewatched the second season finale of Miss Scarlet and the Duke this week. Great William/Eliza shipper moment in that one. I’m gonna need them back ASAP.
Ashley W.: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is on Disney+ now, and it’s just as sad and satisfying as a finale as it was when I first watched it. I also truly will never look at raccoons the same way, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.
Lizzie: I rewatched all of The Lincoln Lawyer before the last few episodes of Season 2 came out, and if this isn’t one of the best lawyer shows I’ve seen, then I don’t know what it is. If you haven’t checked it out, do yourself a favor and now that it’s got two full seasons, go and do just that.
Lyra: Catching up on RuPaul’s Drag Race has been fun even though I wish all of the shows were on one platform. Or even the seasons.
Erin: Jersey Shore. Yes, I went there. Sometimes you just need to know that the party’s here.
Ashley T.: I watched and rewatched Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2×09 “Subspace Rhapsody” this week. I’m probably going on my seventh or eighth viewing and I’ve listened to the soundtrack at least that many times and it’s only been out for about 24 hours.
